NECA '87 Toon TMNT

I know these technically aren’t from the ‘87 Toon line, but I got the Ben Cooper TMNT figures and worked them into my display as trick or treaters in TMNT costumes encountering Granny Bebop and Baby Rocksteady and the Turtles in their trench coat disguises.

Hope the street thugs don’t cause any trouble for these kids.

Actually, I looked up what they showed last year. It was quite a lot across all the different TMNT lines.

A lot of it hasn’t been released yet either, like the Stan Sakai Turtles, the Robo Tokka/Rahzar toon pack, movie style Bebop and Rocksteady, and additional TMNT Universal Monster figures (although I don’t think these are coming).

Really hoping we hear something about the kitchen and/or giant Krang.

If the license likely wasn't up, I'd say "Yes, definitely," but that's the black cloud hanging over everything. If they're pessimistic about continuing then they may not show a lot since they'll have a limited window to actually release. At the same time, maybe they'll want to show everything, see what the reaction is, and factor that into how they approach negotiations with Paramount? I think we'll definitely see new stuff and probably more than we saw at SDCC and NYCC.

I remember Bandai went hog wild with SH Figuarts Star Wars prototypes at cons just as the Hasbro license was expiring. When Hasbro was able to renew, they pulled back from Star Wars almost entirely, putting out the bare minimum releases each year. I always reckoned they had put on a big show initially to see if they could get some of the rights for US distro, but when Hasbro locked it down they were left to strategize around a much smaller market.

Maybe NECA will do the same, but I'm not so sure. Beyond what they've teased but haven't released so far, I'm not sure there are many big hits left in the line, specifically Toon, but across their other manifestations as well to make the license worth fighting for—if it comes to that. But perhaps negotiating with Mattel will be easy, maybe they could even get a better deal, who knows.

I know people really want Tempestra but she might already be on the docket for later this year or early next. I think the playsets/Big Krang might have to wait until tariffs go away, if they ever do.

Other than that - they've already gone above and beyond and released lots of deep cuts. My own personal want is a set of top-to-bottom remakes of the classic four bros. They don't need to come with a ton of accessories, we already have so many fun ones. Just well articulated bodies, scaled for the line, with several full heads and hands and their classic weapons, that's all I want.

Waiting for someone to share more of that display on a platform that isn't owned by a nazi. I do like those stupid, puffy, coat looks from the show. Not sure if it's something I need to own though.

I like those costumes are Ultimates and one for each Turtle, I’m running out of space so getting just one of each for representation of these iconic looks is better than a four pack.

You kings who need all four in matching outfits can buy four and do a little paint project like those guys who painted the samurai Mikey to be all four.

Big spread of pics at Toy Ark. guessing these turtles are a set of two-packs. They're also the only toon representation at the show. Edit: actually the turtles are listed as ultimate releases. Good for those who want multiples of any.

It's a picture of the NECA booth and someone handling the name tags they put out with product. One is for Robo Tokka and Rahzar with a release date of Q1 and the other is for Ultimate Tempestra with a release date of Q3. It's from a YouTube video in the Robot Reviews channel.

I imagine they know they've gotta get Tempestra out there. She's the last figure cartoon fans are basically saying they must have to feel like the collection is complete and NECA knows how unlikely it is that they get to keep making TMNT product pretty soon.
Now... also using that final time to release more 'Turtles in disguise' that no one was asking for is certainly... a choice.
