Muppets (including The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock)

I was doing a purge, and there was an antique/collector shop that was buying collections, and I sold off my carded Marvel Select and Marvel Universe collections, and my entire loose Simpsons collection for pennies on the dollar.
The obvious lesson from this is to never sell.

Swedish Chef's Kitchen is both amazing but really too bulky for just the one character. Everything else works well for multiple characters for display. That one really pushes it due to the size.

Anyway, don't forget to watch the show tonight on ABC.
That's why you have other figures visit! Especially those that might not fit in elsewhere. Lew Zealand to share his boomerang fish. Scooter to coordinate guests like Camilla and the other chickens. Crazy Harry blowing something up in the oven. Sam Eagle disapproving. Beauregard sweeping up the mess.

NECA's post is back up, with a slightly different message to announce their Muppet figures.
I am really excited for this line and very curious how it will go. Will wave 2 be Piggy, Rowlf, and Animal to knock out the big six? Maybe they'll include a less well know but wanted character like Bean or Mahna Mahna and the Snowths. With the Palisades and DST lines existing, I'm really curious what the market will be for the different characters.

I really hope the scale isn't too different from Palisades because I'd love for this line to add to that collection instead of completely replace.

I have mine displayed in my kitchen, so isn’t impacting my display space. It was the only playset I didn’t buy when the line was originally out and one of the first things I bought when I moved into my current home (back when prices on eBay were still reasonable),

Blake Wright of Toy Collector magazine was on Toy Anxiety last night. Some things he said about this Muppets line:

  • It will scale with Sesame Street. They're also trying to keep Palisades in mind as well.
  • He has seen Kermit, Fozzy, and Piggy.
  • These will be unveiled at Toy Fair next week.

I sold most of the Palisades figures as I switched to Select just before bankruptcy…oh well, good for those that want them. I guess Super7 is done with the reaction Sesame Street

Thought the new Muppet Show was pretty good, in keeping with the 1970's version of semi-controlled chaos, interesting musical numbers, and general silliness - with a bit of an edge. Carpenter was a good choice, she brought good energy I thought, and one hopes got some younger viewers and not those of us who could be grandparents who grew up watching the show. Voices were closer than I was expecting, maybe slightly digitally altered? Hope it gets an audience.

Piggy will be the big test for me, and will be curious to see Kermit - I was petty happy with the look of Kermit, and his design makes arm and legs tough in figure form...
