MONDO Masters of the Universe 1/12 and 1/6

Was just about to post this. The timing is awfully convenient. And damn it, they caught me at a time where my MOTU fever is at an all time high. Right when I'm trying to downsize, these fuckers.

Probably in for MAA and Teela. Dunno how I feel about being 4 deep and paid for before I even have HeMan in hand. Doubt I'm going all in on the others. Might just get a few personal favorites like Stinkor, BuzzOff, Merman and some others. I don't see myself paying $150 after tax/tariff/shipping for RamMan, who's basically got traumatic brain injury and is basically a brick on springs.

I'm in for the bad guys, definitely. I need to see Beast Man and Trapjaw before it's all said and done.

I have to remind myself that 200X did not always have my favorite depictions of certain MOTU characters, and to withhold some of the hype that the movie is giving my purchasing habits. The depiction of Stinkor by the Kuchareck Bros recently doesn't make me want THAT figure at all sadly.

Stinkor

Well, shit. Looks like PowerCon is getting an exclusive in this line of Anti-Eternia He-Man.

Sounds like he can be ordered with tickets to the con when they go up early next month, limit two. Can't guarantee there will be any left for sale after the show.

Looks like I'm going to MOTU Fest.

That's okay, wife wants to go to the Cincy Zoo to see Fiona, anyway. 😀

For real, if anyone actually is going and would be willing to grab me one, i'd pay you up front and then shipping once the time came...

Just the teaser was shown so far, on Geek.Dad.Life:

Looks real good.

I had a moment of crisis where I considered cancelling my preorders, but I am on the hook for these. I may be clearing out space, but...I will make room for these. Too, too good.

I wish I could trade "lizard face" for something else. I too went through a "how deep is your love" moment, to quote the Bee Gee's, the other night and looked up all the major 200X designs from the cartoon to determine whom I would be skipping. Overall it's looking like I mostly only really want He-Man, Skeletor, MAA, Teela (because of Orko) and possibly 1-2 henchmen bad guys, and maybe 1 hero henchman if any.

Given that you know they're going to be about $150 each, I can't see myself collecting the whole team, much less most of the team. I'd like to see what BuzzOff, Sy-Clone, and maybe Mekaneck and Stinkor look like before I progress much further. Stratos, Ram Man and the rest I don't remember being all that wow-ed by the designs, and this WAS a flash-in-the-pan series in many respects, even if it was decent.

I do wish they had included the original design power swords for both He-Man and Skeletor as that would more than make me able to justify them as "classic" and "200X-enough" that I don't need to look at any other MOTU lines.

Honestly the only thing making me get most of these "exclusives" is that I like the bases they stand on, but they seem to be getting progressively more boring and like "background art."

Yeah, I'm usually not a bases guy, but I liked the Clawful one. As you say, though, they've all been pretty bland since then and I'd rather they had gone with more accessories or like companion characters or something instead.

Mondo has MAA listed on their site, no dotted line outline to distinguish what makes this figure any more exclusive than what will come later. I'd assume that is likely just the base, the grey mace and the lizard head. I doubt this is going the Clawful "buy it or do without" route given the importance of the character. You know MOTU stuff sells better than Ghostbusters stuff in terms of fan demand.
