MONDO 1/6 TMNT

I would think Mondo's license is the safest since they're in a different scale and price point from what a master license holder wants. Just like how they can produce Marvel stuff with Hasbro having the master license.

They seem to be doing one turtle, one villain per release. Or that's what was hinted at with the Shredder coming. I guess we'll see how that plays out.

I would be royally screwed if they started producing animated Marvel stuff in 1/12th.

If that holds true, then I have to imagine NECA could still work the "we stay in this spot, while you stay in the main aisle" setup they've been doing, and they certainly were always good at working loopholes like with the DC figures. Playmates tried to do collector stuff, and that never seemed to get in the way (regardless of how bad they were). I'm very curious to see where this all drops.

Anything is possible. Viacom's people seem to have a good working relationship with a lot of their licensees where they pitch stuff and earmark things for companies. And if the new licensee is only interested in the kid stuff then everyone likely keeps getting to make turtles. If it is indeed Mattel though then that could be an issue. They seem to like to do both, but maybe they won't in this case. At least not upfront. My real fear with NECA is just that everyone likely views the 87 cartoon as the most valuable part of the license so they could easily get squeezed out of making those figures while potentially being allowed to hang onto some of the comic stuff (Archie might be too close to the toon) and things like Fortnite.

And all this assumes Viacom is giving out a complete master license this time. They could just split it and have individual deals with NECA, Mondo, Super7, whoever replaces Playmates, etc

I think Mondo is pretty safe in the 1/6 arena anyway. Can't see Mattel or Hasbro or anyone like that touching 1/6 anytime soon.

I believe the current plan is Don, Leo, Shredder, Raph, Mike (not 100% if it's Raph or Mike first)

The Kuchareck Bros posted their version of a very "1st movie" looking Raph on their social media (think wrist wraps and tactical belt / MMA & SWAT pieces, mostly just looked like a kickboxer version of 1st film Raph), so unless that's part of their statue line they're also doing (those tend to look more generic TMNT overall, so I doubt it) it's likely for Mondo. Mikey is the only one we've seen nothing of.

At these prices I'm going to have to be very restrained with what I get from this line. I should be safe or tertiary characters, as I don't even know how they'd do a 6 foot sewer-dwelling Manta Ray fit the aesthetic they've got going already.

Same. Price and space are gonna limit me but in for at least the 4 turtles. Would love to get Shredder, Bebop & Rocksteady as well but we'll see. Splinter, April, Casey, Krang would be amazing but even if I had the money I'm not sure space would allow it. Beyond that I'm definitely out.
