McFarlane IDW TMNT Page Punchers

I know it's not intentional malice, but one of my favorite parts of social media, certainly within the toy community, is when somebody publicly announces they found something to help other people.

And then other people chime in and go, Yup already got mine yesterday or a week ago and I never said anything.

I mean knowing the community at large, I'm sure it is an intentional malice gatekeep because it's all they have.

I'm looking forward to seeing comparison photos with the Loyal Subjects figures. If there's a significant improvement in articulation and aesthetics, I might consider these. Otherwise, they look pretty redundant already.

I came in here just to sarcastically say "I wonder how little articulation these have," since that's what McFarlane does for the smaller, cheaper figures.

I actually finally saw these figures in person at my Target. They are pretty ugly toys in person too, at least the turtles are. Shredder and the Foot are passable to a degree; though they still have those weird Toddy-isms with the articulation. I may still get Bebop and Rocksteady (if he actually gets released), but I don't see this line continuing for long. But then it's McFarlane, so who knows. He'll bankroll anything he wants.

Saw a bunch of Leo, Shredder and Foot at a local Walmart the other day and just couldn't do it, not even for just Leo.

Wave 2's up for pre-order...not that I imagine anyone cares. Bebop and Rocksteady look so cheap. It's such a let down cause I really like those IDW looks.

Picked up IDW Rocksteady when I stumbled on him at GameStop this week. It's a heavy figure, which may be the only impressive quality about it. The sculpt is pretty decent, but the black wash paints muddy him up to the point where lots of detail is lost. The articulation isn't fantastic, and mostly ugly. Ball socket neck with lots of range, ball hinge shoulders, hinge elbows, ball socket hips, swivel hinge knees, ball socket wrists and ankles. Comes with two extra sets of hands (fists, grips, open), an extra head (gritted teeth and closed mouth), and a sledgehammer weapon. The knees have tight ratchets that are difficult to move. The pegs become visible when you pivot the ankles in any direction. I paid $28 minus my monthly $5 rewards. Basically paid for the character to join the Loyal Subjects IDW figures I already have. And I still ordered Bebop off BBTS, which I anticipate will generate the same lukewarm reaction.

You guys are making me feel bad that I like these. I have the first two turtles, I really liked the look and scale of them. I wish I had known about the black, white and green versions, I would've just waited on those but I don't think I'm doubling up on these guys.

Also, let it be known that I never got into the Neca figures up until I sporadically grabbed a few of the Last Ronin figures, so these kinda filled a small void in my life.

If you like them, please, by all means, enjoy them! Keep liking them. I want to like them, but all I have is Rocksteady, and he’s just ok. There are ways he could be better. Some articulation engineering choices are head scratchers.

Received Bebop from BBTS today. He’s just as odd and limited as Rocksteady. But becomes with a machine gun and chainsaw accessories. The wrist and ankle joints are just as conspicuous as on Rocksteady, possibly moreso. The head sculpts are both good, but I’ll be sticking with the more neutral face rather than the one with crooked glasses. Not sure how many more I’d get from this group.

What's the significance of Bebops disheveled glasses look? He got punched or woke up from a nap, and that's how they think people want to display him?

Maybe he has astigmatism in one eye and needs to lift one side of his shades to bash on the Toitles.
