Masters of the Universe: Origins

I was going to skip this line entirely but I picked up Evil-Lynn and Stratos and fucking hell, I ordered three more figures ten minutes after I opened. them. They are DELIGHTFUL. Man at Arms even uses some of the clever engineering I've only ever seen on Savage Crucible figures to make sure his pauldron doesn't impinge his movement. I'm going to end up getting a few others this week. Moss Man and Prince Adam just look really cool now that I know how good the others are.

OK, so of this want list, I'd still like Trap Jaw, Whiplash, Fisto, Man E Faces, and SyKlone. Take one of those away, maybe MEF, and that could be a fantastic fifth wave, with Whiplash being the deluxe. I really want that Fisto with the oversized gauntlet. Trap Jaw is a must in ANY iteration of MotU. SyKlone had one of the best redesigns from 200X. If I got those four, I could call the collection complete.
 
Finally, was able to order a 200x Samurai He-Man that might actually get to me and not be cancelled like Wal-Mart always does. I got it off Mattel creations, as they have the figure back on their site again. There are still limited amounts left if someone need him.

So Mattel Creations REVEALED is streaming right now and the first reveal is Origins Laser Power He-Man with actual light up sword.
 
Kind of a lame show. I didn't know it was going to be a one reveal per line kind of a deal. I figured it was going to be talking about all things MOTU. Ah well. Happy for those who wanted this figure.
 
Just an update. The Laser Power He-Man (Origins) is going live to order right after the stream ends.

It is already up on Mattel Creations, just can't be ordered. $33US ($49Cdn).

Packaging shows Laser Light Skeletor and Strobo. All of them I'm sure are probably in the pipeline.

I'm sure Damien will be totally fine with all of these versions/characters getting toys before Two-Bad and others.......... :ROFLMAO:

I have no idea who the artist is or his work. It is going to be He-Man/Battle Cat and Skeletor/Panthor (Origins). He-Man looks fairly interesting but Skeletor and Panthor look pretty bad ass in that red. I can only imagine how terrible the pricing is going to be on them but I'm sure they'll sell out quickly.
 
Definitely getting Laser Power He-Man. I'm happy to get him, but I do wish they'd just cut the shit and give us Two Bad and the 3 movie figures. The most important things left from the vintage collection.

But I am glad we are getting Laser Power He-Man and hope we do get Laser Power Skeletor as well. (I'm sure we will)
 
So the quick hits from the REVEALED event where MOTU is concerned:

Brick Works new movie Castle Grayskull
Barbie x MOTU - No product reveals (and no the She-Ra Barbie isn't part of it, it is older product already released)
Monster High x MOTU - Skeletor (she may be Skeletor's daughter)
Artist collab (James Jean) - Floral look He-Man (apparently the colour/design is trying to evoke a Jade/Floral aesthetic. Skeletor in red is supposed to represent a harder, coral, look as contrast to He-Man.

Embarrassing showing from the company that's on the cusp of having a huge movie hit theatres, if I'm being honest.
I won't criticize this bizarre decision to do Laser Light He-Man because at least it's an OG figure like we've been asking for. Glad they're making it. But I will criticize the decision to continue with the International Fan-hating drip-feed of figures and the refusal to make vintage toy Two Bad. At this point, I basically refuse to believe it's not an intentional 'fuck you' to fans.
 
The James jean pieces actually do look really cool. it's just nothing I feel I need in my He-Man collection. But cool looking toys, and it's just so cool all the different MOTU toy options coming our way right now.

I grabbed x 2 of Laser Power He-Man. He looks like a lot of fun. Seeing the translucent blade of the sword for Laser Power He-Man makes me wish they'd release a single release of New Adventures He-Man in Origins with a translucent green blade on his sword. I never wanted that 4 pack NA Origins He-Man was in. I had everything else in it but him, and I didn't like his sword blade was silver. So, the set just didn't feel worth it to me.

But I'd love a NA Origins He-Man with the green blade.
