Marvel Legends Two-Packs

Got Colossus and Kitty last night and first impression - Kitty is huge. They look pretty much exactly like the prototypes. Kitty's floating belt and weirdly large new upper chest are somewhat odd, but the non-piping on her boots is so annoying.

Had an idea to fix the height:

Had an X97 Jubilee nearby that I'd already swapped parts with so grabbed her legs and popped them on. There is gapping at the top, but it does reduce her height a bit, and since Hasbro only painted the piping on, I can mimic that, too.

But big problem: Kitty's torso yellow is a completely different shade than the rest of her. This drives me nuts.

Kitty's wrist overlays for the gloves look lazy and bad. Also agree the lack of colour matching is bad. And the body is mostly reuse apart from the upper torso and heads, so basically this is a lazy figure and locked behind a 2-pack which sucks for people who consider the various minor differences in Colossus' costumes to be negligible. They should have had this 2-pack feature a powered-down Colossus and it would justify the price and pair-locking of these characters better, but I think I'm more than fine with just making a Kitty from random kitbashed parts and keeping the Colossus I already have and calling it a day.

I was able to pick up the X-Men '97 Cyclops/Jean Grey 2 pack at The Great Ohio Toy show today and it was only $45.00. Always can find figures slightly under retail at one of the 300 dealers there. They had Wolverine and Storm as well for $45 but I was out of money. I only had $140 to spend for the show unfortunately. I really have to get serious with saving for this show. Hopefully I'll have more when the October show gets here!

Iceman's not even in my top 5 but it's a revolving door of "we decided not to try. Even the AOA one was "mid" at best.

How's the new Kitty head look on the Juggernaut Kitty's body, since they didn't do the suit right here?

to be fair to this new Kitty, Hasbro has completely botched the scale of this team from the start.. Cyclops was too small from the jump.

If Hasbro's promo pics are accurate (which very possible they aren't), the relative scale between Colossus and Kitty is pretty accurate.

But are we considering foreshortening here? Wolverine looks huge here, and that's probably because he's meant to be positioned closer to the viewer. There's no real way to tell how close each character is to the viewer besides overlap. In that case, Emma looks too small here. Colossus is possibly furthest back, but may or may not be right next to Kitty. Wolverine is a few feet in front of them. Beast looks further behind Scott as well.
