Got Kitty and Colossus today as well. I want to nitpick over the size, I want to nitpick about how I like the hair on the smiling face better but don't like using smiling faces in my display... but just posing and messing with them (and truly that's 99% of what I do with figures - it's all about how fun they are to pose for me more than how they look on the shelf), I really like both figures. Like I just can't find a complaint bad enough to complain about, just some things that could have been improved but weren't. Honestly, the only thing I want to gripe about is poor Lockheed is still on the same buck as he's always been! Give my boy and upgrade!
Also, though. The packaging. Whatever anyone's opinions on the Astonishing run, good, bad, or indifferent, goddammit Cassaday drew a beautiful fucking run. Just a breathtaking series on the art side, cinematic and elegant and rich and emotional. Just a quiet titan of the industry, gone too young, and it makes me rage how often we lose comic book legends before their time. The world was better for having him, the X-Men were better for having him render them in his own way, and I'm pretty goddamned pleased to have the team in Legends.
(I ended up buying a wired cape for Astonishing Emma now that Pete and Kitty are here. I I'm surgically removing the plastic cape so she can pose better.)
