Marvel 1/6 Scale (Mondo, Hot Toys, etc.)

Got a shipping notification for Sinister last night. Just after I got my display reconfigured in a way I like, now I have to try to fit that design into it.

Same. I’m excited for Sinister and very curious about his cape’s material.

Got Sinister in tonight. He spent all day in a frigid truck so I'm not ready to put him through the motions yet. I did open everything to make sure all was accounted for and that there were no issues. I attempted to assemble his cape, but didn't get far. The cape is basically four pieces: two left, two right. They're glued together where the strands go into the figure so you're only inserting two parts. It feels like it's made out of ABS so it's very firm, rigid, and unforgiving. The part for the left side went in okay, but I couldn't get the right side in. I don't want to force it while everything is still pretty cold so I'll set aside for tomorrow.

The figure itself seems fine. The paint job is excellent, as usual, but one thing I didn't notice in the solicitation images is that he has single-jointed elbows. Not a huge deal, but I'd prefer the double-jointed ones we've been getting ever since Cyclops. I also wish he had a more 92 inspired portrait. This guy is pretty much all 97. It's subtle, but the face is a little different between the two.

Mine is coming tomorrow. Excited for him, but at least a little bummed if all the portraits are ‘97 style. Don’t get me wrong — I love the shows and bought all the ML figures — but Mondo is expensive and this is likely the only shot at an animated Sinister figure.

I feel like the eye flare portrait is the most 92. Maybe because of the mouth shape. The slightly taller hair is a bit more 97, but it's subtle and it's not as if the original show wasn't all over the place at times. Really curious for those who get this figure if anyone can get the cape to sit just a little lower than what I have it here. You can see the notch visible over the figure's right shoulder and I'd love to get it all the way in, but I'm loathe to put more force into it.
