Loyal Subjects MASK toy line

I guess I should be thankful that these are so bloody expensive because I really can't afford to get into another line.

These look wonderful and the whole line so far looks fantastic. As Ru1977 said it is a shame about the codenames, especially with the terrible choices for alternates. However that doesn't take away from how great these look.

I found a box of old toys my mother had hoisted upon me during a visit home that I assumed was all stuff I no longer needed or wanted, and with my travel plans canceled this week If inally got around to breaking it open and rinsing all the dirt and dust off the toys.

At least a DOZEN MASK figures. Nobody has their mask anymore, no vehicles, the paint is chipped and worn, but a dozen still very functional, very good MASK figures. V1 and 2 Matt Tracker, V1 Hondo, two versions of Bruce Sato, an Alex Sector V1 (I still have Buddy Hawks on my desk so they're reunited!) Scott Trakker and Bob, Dusty Hayes V1, the tan-suited Mile Mayhem, Julio Lopez, Calhoun Burns, Ali Bombay, Bruno Sheppard, a few others. Absolute crazy haul. I'm so mad I didn't look through this box earlier.

(Also had Sky Commanders, some COPS, some Voltron...)

I don't know anything about him, but Nevada Rushmore is cool name.
Wellllllllllll..... except for Mount Rushmore being humongous portraits of four presidents who did immense harm to Native Americans blasted into the rock of incredibly sacred hills for the Lakota and other Plains tribes.

Nevada Rushmore is an objectively an amazing name for a cowboy or drag racer, but is catastrophically yikes for a First Nations character. Wow.

When I went to remind myself of Ali Bombay's name - I legit loved this figure as a kid, his costume design is bitchin' - I did start roaring laughing. Ali Bombay. Oof. Although to be fair, these shows were trying so fuckin' hard to be inclusive. I can't get mad at a cartoon that, yeah, had a blonde guy in charge, but tried really hard to make sure everybody was represented and none of those representational characters were played as a joke. Silly names aside, I feel like if you launched MASK today people would say it was too woke.

Ali's motorcycle was one of my favorite vehicles in the entire line.
I need to go back and rewatch the cartoons. I know these things were all just ads for the toys, but I REMEMBER the show shifting from adventure show to being about what, a cross country motorcycle race? Introducing a bunch of smaller vehicles and new characters, and being so confused by the tonal shift.

Anyway. I'm also dying laughing that I found gray-suit Matt, red and brown suit Matt, and original Bruce like, eight weeks before this new line's figures came out. I might not have preordered if I knew I still had the originals!

Ah damn! You better see what other treasure you may find before you spend further!

But yeah, they went full nascar or something.
