I hope we get more like this. Not specifically sequels (Though I don't mind that entirely), or things that are very specifically themed after kpop, or whatever. Just fun new ideas as films where the passion of the artists shows, animated and not. Refreshing time!
Sony Corpos had such little faith they bounced it to Netflix and quickly realized they fucked up.

So here's hoping, but it's dire in those c suites if no one could see how this printed money.

Picture my 8 and 4 year old nieces like Alex Baldwin in Glengarry alongside my 20 something Kpop and anime obsessed college classmates.

"They're sitting there waiting to give you their money. Are you man enough to take it?"

It's funny because we showed Exorcist to our kids last year, and both my wife and I are recovering Catholics but my kids have been raised with zero beliefs, and yeah they felt Exorcist was pretty bland and slow compared to my wife and I raving about how terrifying it is.

The Exorcist was on a very short list of “oooooh actually you should not watch that, too young” movies in my house, which was odd since I was watching hardcore horror movies of all stripes since I was nine. Night of the Living Dead was also on that list. I guess one of my uncles from my dad’s Irish Catholic family had like a breakdown after watching The Exorcist and thought the Devil was sitting in the chair in his room at night.
I eventually watched the film in my late teens and I definitely love it, but being totally unchurched I didn’t exactly find it *scary*. Also if I want to watch a “controversial” horror film involving the Catholic Church, I’m gonna pick The Devils every time.

Yep, add me to the list of Exorcist skeptics. I watched it in college and was totally whelmed by it. It's fine. The effects mostly hold up, and Regan fucking herself with the crucifix is still shocking. It's slow and not all that scary.

My parents (right out of Boomer central casting) claimed they were screaming, crying, throwing up, etc. when they saw it.

Went to an early showing of Wake Up Dead Man last night at the Paris Theater. If you liked Knives Out and Glass Onion, I think you'll like this one- a little darker than those 2, but more in line with Knives Out than Glass Onion. A lot of fun, though- the audience really liked it. Got to meet Rian Johnson as well and have him sign a couple of my things. Really nice guy!

I'm so ready for this one.

Just got back from seeing Predator: Badlands, and for going in with little-to-no expectations, I had a really good time with it! A surprising amount of heart and humor, while still sticking with that badassery we've come to expect when Yautja are involved. Really liked the dynamic between Dek and Thia, and Bud is an instant icon that I would kill for. Saw a lot of folks concerned that the PG-13 rating would keep it from being too violent, but I think it was appropriately so; I'd say it was just because the violence was contained to aliens and synthetics, so the lack of human blood was probably the biggest factor. It takes itself seriously, but most importantly, also remembers to have fun. Hope it does well; definitely recommend seeing it on the big screen if you can.
