JADA TOYS General Thread

It's just...

Why? Ya know?

Of all the things to get the license to. That?
Like the trailer says:
“From the Studio that brought you:
Into the Spiderverse
And
K-Pop Demon Hunters”

Zootopia 2 also just made a billion dollars so if you’re not a big enough dog to get one of those licenses the “we have it at home” version could maybe catch a few strays.

Fair enough. Hey, what do I know?

I never thought Despicable Me or Kung Fu Panda were going to take off, either, so...

Clearly, my knack for picking out winners isn't dependable.

I guess it makes sense in a Keep the Lights On kind of way. Quick turnaround on a short-term property where the toys don't need to have a wild standard of quality, and it's definitely increasing their presence in the figure aisle - I mean, a branded shipper and everything. And if the movie doesn't do so great and the toys go to clearance, it's not really on Jada. And hell, it could be the next Despicable Me or Kung Fu Panda. I doubt it, it has that sort of relevance desperation and sanded-down feel to it that a lot of unsuccessful kids' animated films have (where Despicable Me stumbled into a creature of perfect marketability in the Minions and Kung Fu Panda had Jack Black being goofy, which historically is a magic money machine with a kids' audience). But even so, it's basically easy money for Jada and I don't think it's going to hurt them with retail buyers if the thing fails.
