Inart 1/12 DC Figures

It's an odd choice but as long as they stay consistent between lines (so all the TDK trilogy stuff scales with each other, all the Arkham stuff fits together, etc) I'm not too concerned about the scale issue.

Hopefully the various movie lines are consistent with each other (same for comic based stuff).

I can't wait for their Deathstroke and Bats in the Freeze dlc suit. I'm so goddamn happy that Origins is finally getting the respect it deserves after so many years. Hell, I was basically all in on the DCD line a million years ago so I hope Inart won't stop on 3 figures.

Can't understand why Inart is adamant that he's 1/12 scale. Words have meaning.
That’s the only thing that irritates me.
I can accept that Batman being pretty big, but there’s no way he’s well over 7’ tall in the game. I have the same hangup with Storm. It’s almost like some companies consider 1:12 a style and not a literal measurement. It’s math - there should be no gray area or wiggle room here if you’re putting 1:12 in your description.

Agreed. I thought maybe it was a combination of Arkham Batman being a little taller than Bale and InArt using more "heroic" proportions for their game figures but even with both of those he's still way too big to be 1/12.

Just hope that they can keep scales consistent across their lines now. So all DC live action stuff is true 1/12, all Arkham stuff fits this bigger scale, and all comic stuff matches whatever scale they go with there (hopefully closer to actual 1/12).

I preordered him precisely because he is larger, so I hope they don't shrink him any. I think he's the perfect size, but I also like McFarlane's size more than true 1/12.

I do think Inart looks at 1/12 as a style, as someone said. They're known for their 1/6 offerings, so labeling something 1/12 is just easier to differentiate between the two.

Apparently it's more to do with them giving each line's designer free reign. The Arkham guy likes 'em bigger, the TDK guy is a true 1:12 devotee. But it does sounds like the highly mixed reaction to Arkham Origins Bats has spooked them some.

I'd be okay with them reducing the figure to an even 7". I can buy Batman being a pretty big guy who, when combined with that costume, hits close to 7' tall. It sure looked like they already cut steel though for the samples they sent out so if it's going to make the project incur considerable cost then I'd also be fine with them just leaving it as is. I can't see myself going deep on an Arkham line so a one-off Batman that's more like 1:10 scale won't bother me. What I don't want to see is them re-tooling just bits and pieces to shrink the figure resulting in something with different proportions from what we already saw. Basically, what NECA attempted with their April redo in the turtle toon line and now we just have a giraffe-necked news reporter.

That's what I wondered, would they just attempt to shave some height off the legs and end up with some unusual proportions, or is it actually possible to re-size the entire thing proportionally without having to essentially re-do it all?

Is it usual for manufacturers like these to have a small test run (with a couple of samples for reviewers) before they actually finalise the molds?
