Hulk Deluxe/Retro Wave

3 things to do for redoing the Abomination figure.

1. Make him bigger and taller than the Hulk
2. Give him trunks
3. Give him fist hands
 
I bought and then sold the Gamerverse BAF years ago expecting this eventual rerelease. I really like this body that he's on, and I think he works well for a modern Abomination. Would definitely take a more classic version but I still like the Raft / old Cap wave BAF figures too.
 
On the one hand, I am happy to order this Abomination. I really like the Gamerverse body, and this will be a significant upgrade over any prior Abomination figure. On the other hand, the line has improved since that base body came out, so it would have been nice to get a new pinless sculpt with the segmented skin, two toes, and fists. But the new head sculpts all look cool.

I see Hasbro has shipped my Abomination figure. At last, I will have a Marvel Legends Abomination. I really like the look of this figure. I'm sure Hasbro could (and will) make a much more classic looking Abomination, and hey, I will probably buy that too. But this one definitely gets the job done in my eyes. I really like how it looks.
 
Yep, Emil’s on the way for me too, and I’m stoked. Sure, could be more classic, yes: buuuuut I’m honestly not getting that “arrrrrgh not close enough not good enough!!” vibe that I sometimes get. This works for me.
 
Received Abomination from Pulse just now. There are a couple of notable differences I'm feeling between this figure and the BAF. Rotating the thighs, which now apparently have ratchets in the swivel. The deluxe has painted claws, a detail I never noticed was unpainted on the BAF. Obviously the heads are compatible, so I put the roaring head on the BAF and the grinning one on the deluxe. Paint highlights are more yellow-green on the deluxe, and more beige on the chest of the BAF. The base plastic looks very similar though, so the deluxe head on the BAF matches pretty well. There's sculpted scaly texture on the hands, so swapping them with fists from say, Hulk, would not match textures. That's really the biggest flaw. I don't mind the torn pants, but can understand why others would want the classic trunks look.
