Me too. Every so often I'll plug it in, try to pose him with it for a few seconds, hate my life, and toss it back in the bin.

lol now I’m just imagining you’re haslab sentinel carpooling your worn and weary 97 sentinel home. And both your sentinel and the seat rest of your Haslab’s car are smeared in gold paint.

Also I imagine that your Haslab must drive like a used Mazda QS30 or something like that. So sad situations are all too common in this kind of car

Customs took FOREVER with my Sentinel. It's now scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I'd be surprised if that happens. Bummer.
 
Re: Gambit throwing effects. Throwing playing cards doesn't work. You ever try it? It's frustrating. My only guess is charging them with kinetic energy weighs them down somehow, which also doesn't make a lot of sense, but.........comics. I agree, Hasbro's throwing effect sucks ass. The effect that came with the TB Gambit is serviceable and looks pretty neat.

Re: Statues. I'm not a statue guy, I have a couple in the 10 inch range. Yesterday I had a reason to research some fantasy/fairy statues and saw some well-sculpted and well-painted examples in all sizes and styles. And the prices are like half what you'd pay for a Marvel or DC statue. Maybe I need to get more into generic fantasy than desirable IPs controlled by mega corporations.

Oh yeah, the entire concept is stupid. But within the lore of the comics it works... for whatever reason. Like you, I've always gone with the idea that energizing them makes them more throwable in some way. Either way, I seriously don't understand how a throwing effect like the Gambit one made it out of the design stage looking like it does. Like a dozen people have to see this, minimum, and no one said 'hey, this makes no sense?'

TB Gambit did have a pretty cool effect. Of course, the Mafex Gambit has the best effects but you definitely pay for it.
 
People can throw playing cards somewhat effectively. But it just a silly visual as a weapon. Gambit may be better just charging marbles or baseballs. But it's not as cool visually. He's a rogue and playing cards are an indicator he takes chances. And I suppose a regular deck gives him a lot of ammunition. And maybe something heavier would be deadlier, and he's not a killer. God help me, I'm trying to use logic for superhero stuff.
 
There was a kid in my sixth grade class who, inspired by Gambit, would throw playing cards at people. Even if they were energized, he had little control over what direction they'd go. They'd just fly off in some random direction. And we'd all either laugh at him or shake our heads. I've seen videos of dudes who can throw cards with such force and accuracy that they cut things like vegetables in half. So I guess it could go either way. But in both cases, the throwers put a spin on the card. Throwing it so it just travels straight seems like it's not really possible.
 
Yeah I mean best case scenario is if Gambit is throwing the playing cards horizontally, they should be slightly bent at the sides so it can travel a little bit further and maintain some kind of lift. Like a paper airplane would.

Plus I can’t imagine Gambit would have become the popular X-Man he is if he showed up with a big bag of marbles in his trench coat…

Honestly that level of absurdism might have actually made me like him better. “90s bad boi” is boring. “90s bad boi with Pogs”? Now I am intrigued.
 
My Sentinels were on my doorstep as I got home just now!
. . . I’m glad I’m up on the 4th floor, because yeesh these boxes may as well just be labeled “STEAL ME!”

Received my second postponed Sentinel. They seem to look even better in groups. Contemplating a third but trying to remind myself they're almost $250 now. I'm sure these will be popular once the 2nd season of X-Men is out this summer.
