Hasbro Made-to-Order Figures

Hasbro Pulse has the 97 Sentinel up for order as In Stock presently. Showing 3,100 of them on hand. If anyone was confused about what Hasbro needs us to fund before they'll make it.

Nobody funded anything before they made it - these were not paid in advance, and orders were completely free to cancel.

What I would hope they would consider is bringing back the Haslab Sentinel as a Made To Order. The ones listed on eBay are stupidly overpriced and including shipping prices. It don't cost over $100 to ship one.

They were pretty clear about "this is what we make and then that's it" from the outset of their Made to Order model. Let's not pretend that obvious scarcity mindset wasn't tickled and employed as they DID blatantly say it was a limited run production model. Not "...and then there will be other rounds of production later."

Effectively saying "You're paying us to make these. Get one or else you'll be left out." We can also pretend like they don't photoshop out pins on figures for press releases and reveals and then quite clearly produce them pinned on the back end.

I don't have a problem with them making an expanded run so that more people can have them. My issue is with the blatant misportrayal of products that Hasbro seems to only be leaning further into.

That's all well and good - I was responding to the thing you actually said in the post about the Sentinel being funded up front, not these other points.

That said - if there were 30,000 orders placed in the preorder window, is producing an extra 10% on top of that a misrepresentation of it as a limited production run? That seems to me like a very reasonable overage amount. And like altcunningham said, we have no idea how much of this extra inventory was actually overproduction as opposed to canceled orders.

There's plenty I'm annoyed at Hasbro about, like inaccurate promo photos and their stubborn insistence to not adopt double ball torso articulation despite it objectively being the smartest thing they could ever do. I just don't see anything to complain about here.
