Gong Studios Hush Batman

My figure has minor QC but mostly from overuse. The wires in the cape detached from under the collar piece so the anchor points aren’t very strong. We can’t all be like the McFarlane capes but it is what it is

Well, I’m either super unlucky or these have lousy QC. I had bought a second one to keep in the box, but decided to open it since the first one had issues.

Exact same problem with this one.

What a bummer, because it’s otherwise a great figure….

Hmmmph… well they can’t all be winners I guess. 🫤.

I really only bought mine as a placeholder because I have a feeling we’re going to be waiting at least another year for that LPZZ Batman Hush figure since they keep prototyping the damn thing.

What really sticks in my craw is that this figure was first advertised at WonFest 2023. How in the holy fuck does a company spend two years manufacturing a product and and completely whiff on the QC of every single unit that goes out the door???That’s just dumb.

Hey now let’s not be too hasty…does your copy have any inherent QC issues to speak of? Why part with a figure based on anxiety? If it’s good and you like it just put it on your shelf.

It's going to depend on if that hip is a universal thing. It all ready to have it reported in this thread after seeing Tony Mei's post has me cautious.

For $150 bucks Canadian, I just don't have the tolerance anymore when other lines give me no issues.

So has it happened to me yet? No, because I don't have it. It's just sitting in Toronto the past 3 days. But now I'm wary.

The hips and thighs on mine are fine. I haven’t peeked under the hood since I don’t know how to sew but I’ve messed with the figure, and from the vague bits of anatomy I can see, it’s totally fine. Like I said before the wires on mine have become unmoored but that’s an easy fix, and more than likely it occurred from overuse and user error.

Don’t put the cart before the horse just yet. Take the time to handle it and give it a fair assessment before you make your judgement.

Well, I guess 3rd time’s the charm. Got another one and this one has no QC issues.

Not sure if it makes any difference but this is the only one I got directly from PopMart, the other 2 were from eBay.

I’m not trying to convince you to be unhappy with your purchase, but I find it pretty hard to ascribe an issue with a new figure to overuse. Unless you’re grabbing him by the cape and spinning him over your head like a lasso, the wires shouldn’t be popping out because you posed it a lot right out of the box.

Toys have become expensive, and this one especially so. Standards should be high and if there’s anxiety over the condition based on the experiences of others then I totally get why someone might opt to not open it and essentially cut their losses. A sealed figure fetches a better return (or can be returned) than an opened one. And the soft goods mean any issues with joints basically can’t be solved without cutting the material and hoping it can be sewed back into place. I was on the fence with this one. I think it cuts a nice silhouette compared with the MAFEX, but the soft goods don’t impress me enough at this price point. The issues others have had make passing on it even easier.

I almost wish I didn't pay Gundammit right away (they haven't shipped yet). Had I waited a couple more days I would've seen Tony's post and might've ate the $7 deposit.

I should elaborate that I didn’t merely pose him the first day that I got him and then left him completely alone for the rest of the week, and so now it seems odd that the wires would become unmoored inside the cape. No, I keep him right on my bedside nightstand and I’ve been handling this figure daily and repetitively since I got him on the 28th and the only problems I’ve encountered are a couple of loose wires in the cape. If it makes anyone feel better I’ve got two more of these figures potentially arriving today via yun express so once they arrive I should have a better awnser for you. One of these Batman’s I plan to customize using parts from the Adam Strong AD01 Muscular Human male 1/12 scale blank body

He's just sitting there in Toronto for days, but I did get the hand off email for the final mile, so hopefully I can check it out soon.

You're killing me, Smalls.

Dude you and me both. I ordered a silver surfer figure from some guy in Wyoming back in October and it’s still not here. Feels like that damn figure is being pushed along by Sisyphus.
