General Marvel Legends

And maybe ... just MAYBE ... if Hasbro does something for the Black Panther's anniversary, this guy:

Never give up hope.
Every time I look at the Wendigo BaF, I keep thinking, “C’mon, people. It’s damn near halfway done already!!”

Totally forgot about N'Sync Deadpool dropping for pre-order yesterday. I placed an order. Not sure if it's one I need, since I have the original, but those Wolverine pieces and Dogpool are tempting. Worse comes to worse I'll offload the original, or maybe trying to find a custom Wade head to pop on him.

Conan and Sonja are 100% canonical members of the Marvel Universe for me and the reason why is easy - they were part of 7-11's Marvel Slurpee cup line up.

I was collecting those at 5 years old and it is defining for me. Conan and Sonja both had cups right alongside Hulk, Spider-Man, Iron Man and Black Panther. The slurpee cup line up cemented their place in the Marvel Universe even more than the comics did in my young brain. Its for this reason that King Kull, Dracula and Doc Savage are all also firmly part of the Marvel Universe
This just bolsters my feelings on Conan as part of the Marvel Universe, because when fac brought it up I immediately thought of these things from my Seventies childhood:

I totally get the 'keep the mustard separate from the chocolate" argument, but the Bronze Age merchandising, integrating the two tastes, is burned into my soul. Anyone up for a trip to Heroes World, circa 1978?

Yes, I miss the days when the mall near me had a Heroes World, a Sam Goody, and a Kay-Bee Toys...
I realize re-reading that I now know what it was like hearing people 30 years older than me talk about going downtown to the soda fountain and watching the matinee for a nickel every Saturday and getting comics from the newsstand or Woolworths.

The idea of being dropped off at the mall for a few hours, maybe see a movie if the theater was attached, get some food at the food court and wander the stores with your friends - does that happen anymore?

I can confirm on Toronto region — thanks to my daughters, I go to a lot of malls on my travels and I haven't seen anything like Square One and that one out by Canada's Wonderland in a long time. It's like entering a time machine. They're so full of people and busy stores.

I was up in North Bay, Ontario, a few years ago and the mall there still had a record store. With people shopping in it ...

Is this the thread to write about the new Nimrod? While the big differences between this Nimrod and the previous version are the new head sculpt (love it) and the extra pink detailing.

But for me, the fact that the waist swivel actually turns is a big upgrade. I could not get the waist on the original Nimrod to turn, at least without fear that I was just twisting the peg. I tried pouring a lot of shock oil in, but it didn’t work. But the new Nimrod turns easily at the waist. So it’s a significant upgrade for me. Now what would really improve this figure would be a head that turns and better hip range.

That new head sculpt is much better, but I like the more basic white of the first release - the pink I interpreted in the comic as like a reflective glow on the white from his power source (or something) so the large pink stripes looks like cell shading to me. Overall the new one is more dynamic though.
