It's because these collectors see there $100 on Ebay figure going down in price. I'm all for re-releasing figures that have got too expensive.

I am certain this isn't how they're doing it, but if I were Hasbro that would be how I'd determine which ones to rerelease/release as a single-card if they were a BAF. "Oh, it's over $100 on ebay? Time for another run."
 
Yeah, the people who are upset are the ones that are trying to flip their modern "hot" action figure swag. Modern figures just aren't great for trying to make a buck on. If you want to make money on toys, you gotta go vintage. Anything that's "hard to find" these days are only that way because the company purposely didn't make enough and they can rerelease them any time they choose, like what Hasbro's right now. If you missed out on a modern figure, just wait.

Mutant X ... barf. That was the worst. I hated it so very, very Much. Howard Mackie can rot in hell for everything he inflicted on X-fans. He'd be the worst X-writer ever if Chuck Austen didn't exist...

Bamdana feral Wolverine sucked so hard. I'm sure we'll get that one as a figure but oof that design was rough and that overall period of the X-Men was closer to nadir than apex.

Skin yes, absolutely.

Mimic needs to be silver age, Beast body with Angel wings, orange costume and big visor. After that if they want to do the blond guy with the flavor-saver goatee from Exiles, then, sure whatever.

Cecilia Reyes seems like she'd be easy enough and not unwelcome.

You got Bloodstorm and you think you're entitled to moooore?!?!

I thought X-Men 2099 was interesting, but wasn't a devotee of it or Mutant X, so at these prices I'd probably pass on figures of them, aside from maybe Alex in an unmasked black suit. Don't need the black suit with the chunky anime red harness and gauntlets.

Honestly I just wish Maggott got a stoic head even if the glasses were built onto it, and gloved fists as well. I'd take Cecilia as well. Don't think I need any of Chuck Austen's run personally. I'd probably even pass on the New X-Men version of Iceman in his Hawaiian shirt and shades with the leather jacket and pants. I'd be more focused on a decent portion of the X-Treme X-Men, as I enjoyed that series partly for the fact that their costumes still allowed for color and traditional spandex looks.

I'd be okay with a set of Rogue/Storm/Sage in those looks and call it done. :)

It's a precursor to Storm's modern look which we also very much need - a modern Storm HAS to be coming. Hasbro has held out on a modern version of her almost as long as Wanda.

You're gonna sleep on Psylocke, Gambit, Bishop and Beast?!?!? I can understand Thunderbird III and Lifeguard / Slipstream, but Psylocke and Gambit?!?!
 
Given the crossroads I'm at with my Legends collecting (clearing out the old stuff) and considering things pretty well-rounded... its hard to imagine another 10 years and the prospect of filling out New X-Men or X-treme X-Men looks. Astonishing being done will be huge as this is my second favorite incarnation of the team. A few updates from a complete New Avengers squad too.

Spider-Woman on a new pinless body is... overdue. I'll add that to my ideal wave with classic Falcon, classic Herc, Ares, Yellowjacket and Ronin.

It would be cool if during the whole lull of movies we get an Iron Man release with one of the good Downey likeness but on not a massive noggin.
