General Marvel Legends

Speaking of characters that absolutely should be made (that is what we're talking about, right?) how am I only just now finding out about this beautiful creature, the Rhinoceress??

A pink, lady version of the Rhino? Straight to top of my wish list with you!

And here's the thing - those folks aren't the one's even helping those characters get made. At all. It's the people talking about and getting excited for a new and improved Daredevil that will definitely sell well. The people who buy the entire wave comprised mostly of popular characters or who buy the 2 packs for the almost perfect Punisher. We support the line so that the people who just want their Attuma and only Attuma can have that.

So, frankly, making condescending "my eyes are rolling so hard I had a seizure" and "I'm literally giggling to myself like an idiot" comments over suggestions that aren't 100% new and obscure characters is itself laughable.

So, I'm not sure why you so often default to insufferably condescending but your summary of my comments is entirely inaccurate.

While I definitely prefer new characters I do fully understand the business model, and, you may be shocked to learn, I do also buy the popular characters when they are re-released

I wasn't trying to be mean, I literally found it humorous that his list of 10 all new characters contained 7 characters that have previously been released in the line.

I didn't say it was stupid or wrong or bad to want those. I didn't say it was bad to want yet another classic Hulk or another classic Thor or another Daredevil. I made no value judgement at all.

People are allowed to want what they want and if you read criticism into what I posted that is a you thing, not me.

I fully understand and recognize the engine that makes this line go. But, hey, thanks for pedantically spelling it out for me anyway, I guess.

@PantherCult I didn't say "new, never before released". I said "new figures that aren't redos from figures over the past few years". Y' know, as in making figures of new characters making different outfits for characters made over the past few years, like Psylocke and Thing. I just think it'd be cool to see a pink suit Psylocke or Thing in his Fantastic Four tank top outfit to change things around a bit, is all. My apologies for the confusion.

Oh I definitely understood that. The reality is that I want Thing in his black leotard in a bad way and classic Dracula was a hige want of mine. Trust me I wasn't criticizing your list.

We do use different definitions of 're-do' for character selection - since the character has been done, doing it again is redoing (for me) it, even if its in a different costume.

And again I wasn't criticizing your list as I actively want most of it in my collection.

I genuinely apologize if it read like criticism... it wasn't that,

Man, you were the first to "eye roll until seizure" and "literally giggle to yourself" which, I guess needs to be expressly stated, are condescending responses. Do you... get that or... nah?

Technically I said eye "twitch" not roll (and I think that distinction is relevant - one is a nervous tic the other is a deliberate act of dismissal) and I said your list of straight redo's was my nightmare. I didn't say you were wrong for wanting it, I said it isn't what I want.

I understand that redos and rereleases make the line go... but you were advocating for entire waves of nothing but redone characters... so while I acknowledge the reality that I will get another Captain America and Iron Man to get my Diamonback... a wave of nothing but redone characters without the token d-lister isn't a direction I hope the line moves.

I’m only learning about her from this post and I unironically and immediately need her. This is exactly my jam.

You manage to shake your way through a lineup like that, and how well that sells, you can have Diamondback and Rhinoceress... in one wave.

I hope they transition Marvel Legends to be nothing but never-done versions of Wolverine, so we can live together in the perpetual liminal space of 'never been done' and 'total redo' until the stars go dark.

Isn't there that old theory/phenomena/whatever that all species eventually evolve into crabs, or crab-like beings? Well, I'd imagine the same is true for toy lines. All Marvel lines eventually become Spidey or Wolverine, and all DC just become Batman.
