Wow, that was a great one. I love how you handled the code name and file name, and the Stalker commentary was so well handled. I also love how the CGs handle their own mop ups. Great way to handle Wade!

President Lewis is a good Christian man who does not attend salacious bondage and sadomasochism clubs. Who? I'm sorry, you would have to speak to Ms. DeCorbray about those allegations. We do not invade her personal life. Next question. CLASSIFIED: Please ensure all paperwork involving the Paine brothers has been scrubbed from the record. Bad enough to deal with allegations of torture; now we're forced to address rumors that President Lewis spends time with these deviants. See to it the Baroness does not use public funds if she needs these men for her investigations. She will be reimbursed through back channels.

I loved it, thank you! It's a perfect balance and exactly what they deserve. I think also the most I've laughed at any of these. I love how Baroness seesaws between none of your business and yeah they do kinda suck.

I just think of how fast Snake Eyes mopped the floor with them and was like she absolutely hired people from a club she frequents in Berlin. But also now I both want and don't want to know what Baroness and Destro get up to when nobody'w watching. "Leave the mask on. Everything else goes."

I wrote it at like 2 a.m. last night on a whim and then went to bed and didn't realize how ridiculous it was til everyone else saw it.

Our hearts are with President Lewis during this trying time. Seeing a child fall to mental illness in such a violent way is devastating, as you can imagine. The President is asking for some time to process this recent act of violence and wishes his wife were still alive to be there as a comfort to both himself and his son. Yes, they have been estranged for some time - President Lewis has made overtures to William on numerous occasions, but as he was rebuffed he chose to not push his presence into his son's life. William is currently receiving the best care in the world for his mental health, and is under the direct supervision of Dr. Bender himself. CLASSIFIED: It is of utmost importance we find William Kessler's mother - should she go to the press, it will be nearly impossible to silence her. Billy is currently undergoing reprogramming via Dr. Mindbender's intervention; should the process be successful, we will have the brainwashed young man go on an apology tour, campaigning for his father's reelection. If not, we will disappear him to the facility in Florida.

"Someone from the inside was behind the assassination attempt. Despite the initial speculation among Lewis's inner circle, the young man was not mind-controlled but rather convinced that the best thing he could do for his country was put an end to the harm his father has set into motion. He is remarkably sane and, if I'm being more blunt than I should be, not exactly wrong in his assessment. I intervened not out of loyalty, or even out of my belief that Billy would never be able to live with himself for killing his own father, though yes, that thought has crossed my mind in the moments and days that followed. I simply knew that making a martyr out of Lewis would make him a cancer in the political landscape we would never be able to rip out. We cannot allow Lewis to become a sympathetic figure. He must be undermined, shamed, and utterly ruined or else he will rise again. On a strange note, though, the boy held up to interrogation unlike any civilian I've ever seen. Should he escape that facility, he will be a threat to this administration and an asset to whoever employs him in their plans."
 
Oh shit... I stopped getting notifications for this thread and missed everything since middle of the week.

Directed back out specifically because of Billy.... I imagine 'I need to kill my dad because he's a dickhead' is probably the best direction for the character. Way better than 'my dad is evil but I'm so conflicted!'
 
His story arc is so strange. I need to go back and revisit it because in the comics it's Baroness and Bludd who talk him into killing CC and Destro stops it and that sets up a whole family feud thing inside Cobra. I like using it as public media nightmare drama though if Billy takes that shot while CC is "President Lewis" and not the leader of a world terrorist organization OTHER than the United States though.
