G.I. Joe Classified Series

I love the hate because it's fascinating. I know older guys that came up with Outback era and Phoenix and Neal Adams Batman and Byrne Superman and tell me THAT was garbage back then and always will be.

All this stuff is so tuned into halcyon days of our youth, and so many wild takes I hear are just... Why is this even your hobby? What was a book you liked?

"Elongated Man Goes to Europe."

Alright.

okay...but...tbf, that elongated man miniseries was fun. rofl

No one cares, dude. Nobody. Just let people have the stuff they like.

The only thing close to this is the amount of hate certain old-timers would give to Jim Lee X-Men whenever that team was brought up in ML for many years over on Fwoosh.
This goes through my mind often.

I would like a figure of Cesspool as well. Have at him the way they did Crystal Ball where it's the same idea but cooler.
Maybe he's behind the mutation of the Mole Rats? Instead of making him go all environmental terrorist, have him be experimenting on troopers with toxic waste type stuff.
I guess you are unfamiliar with Star Wars, then?
Those guys are the worst, and I should know, we can smell our own kind.
I strictly meant more in the toy sense. Star Wars fans are on another level of 'these specific things I've chosen are the good things and all other things are bad things and I will not explain why to anyone's satisfaction.'
Star Wars toy fans are even worse than general SW fans. If you ever want to see the most entitled bunch of cry babies in the toy world, check out the Facebook Vintage Collection group. Every time someone new comes out in Black Series, they are going on and on about how unfair it is that they keep getting new characters and how the "deserve" it more.

General GI Joe ARAH question - Were there any other females introduced to the original line after Jinx? Or even second versions of characters besides Ninja Force Scarlett? Admittedly, I'm not super familiar with characters past 1987, so this is an earnest inquiry.

From a quick glance at YoJoe, it doesn't look like there were any females in the line until that Ninja Force Scarlett, and she came out in 1993.

Barely bringing it back to classified - got Pythona yesterday. Fantastic work as always by the team. Two... design questions? I guess? One: she's stacked with weird bio-weapons and I wish she came with one of those partially opened hands (I think of them as claw hands but y'know, open but fingers curled) without a secondary effect already on them (like the smoke hand) so she could hold some of that weird suggestive stuff she comes with.

Yep, this is exactly my take away as well. She comes with SO much cool stuff, but it's a bear to get her to hold most of it.

Not a shot against Revox because I don't think he meant it this way but it just kind of jogged a thought for me: This whole conversation is why I basically cannot tolerate interacting with Joe fans outside the Fwoosh/AT community we've built. The obnoxious, absolutely fucking exhausting whinging and piss-bitch complaining about different eras of Joe not being to someone's tastes.

It feels like alone among all multi-decade fandoms, only Joe fans cannot even fathom that a part of the franchise can exist that they just don't care for and don't have to talk about. It's always like "I'll only buy this line until the '84 stuff is finished and then everything else is GARBAGE!' No one cares, dude. Nobody. Just let people have the stuff they like.

Transformers GeeWun fans, too (I use G1 for "Generation 1," I use "GeeWun" as a slur against people who can't take their nostalgia goggles off lmfao). "This singular panel line on the robot's thigh makes this modern figure too detailed!! It must be as smooth and as plain as a poorly animated '80s cartoon!!!" Me: Why do you like that character having that pointless box around his robot head? Them: "bEcAuSe tHe oRiGiNaL hAd iT!!!1!"

They can't explain why they like it. Because "the original design had it" isn't a reason. If just one of them could instead tell me "I just like it better than no box around his head," I would accept that. But that's never the response. It is ALWAYS "because that was the original design." So you can't develop your own taste beyond that?

On an ironic note 😅...for those who are unhappy with Leatherneck's size, and don't think he quite looks the way you'd envision him to look, I finally opened the Mercer pack, and since the black tank/camo pants is my Slaughter, I thought this actually made me think of Leatherneck:

So now I need to come up with a new name for the short king...
