I've been a diehard ML collector since the Sentinel BAF, and for whatever reason I've never bothered to follow that thread- ML isn't really sparking joy with me right now, anyway. Meanwhile, this thread is scratching a very particular 9th grade lunchroom banter itch for me.

Marvel is just too big of a brand. ML thread can't go a page without someone bringing up how a team is missing a member or they want a different look for said member. Meanwhile, us in the Joe fandom are really just happy our toy line isn't dead atm.

I think it might also be escapism. My Joe's are pretty low on the deadly serious drab olive green side of things, in favor of ninjas and bird-of-prey themed accountants who absolutely wear their robot wings at the office. I require zappy laser rifles and dick jokes while the real world is busy being this stupid.

I've slowed alot on Marvel for a few factors, whether it's space, money, waiting for a new Yellowjacket, etc. It's less joy and more of a mild amusement at this point.

Meanwhile, this thread is scratching a very particular 9th grade lunchroom banter itch for me.

I use it as a form of free expressive therapy.

ML has also become a bit depressing as far as value is concerned, especially once I broke the BAF addiction. A naked body with alternate hands if you're lucky vs a wholeass clothed person- well, most of the time Mindbender you PERVERT- with complex paint applications and a buttload of accessories at the same price point.
I very rarely feel buyer's remorse with a new Joe.

I only collect MCU, so they kinda forced me to look to other lines lately, but even then it was getting to be more of a compulsion than a joy. With Classified, I enjoy opening, posing, rearranging, and simply having. To be fair, it's partly my fault because Marvel comes with a lot of "if I have this, I need that" and "If they never do this, that, and the other, the collection won't ever be complete so what's the point even?!" And I know that's entirely my thinking and the fault is mine like I said, but with Classified it's way more "They're doing that one, neat!" There are still plenty more I'd really like them to make, and I think most of those are gonna happen, but the only one they haven't done where I feel my collection will be lacking without is IG Destro because I totally skipped the other one in lieu of holding out.
