G.I. Joe Classified Series: The Chatty Pointless Thread & Performance Art

Here's what they look like, if anyone's curious:

Suffering from some light Liefeldian foot stuff there, but I am really into Down Range.

I feel like you could probably make Down Range from the sniper figure already with a little work. I talk a lot of shit about some of the comic designs for original characters but she looks normal enough and RC looks the APPROPRIATE level of sci-fi for GI Joe, like he would fit in along Sci-Fi or Fast Draw.

VERY true.
Then how is the reader supposed to see her chest and her rear at once? 😝
Haw, yeah that's a fair question!

It looks like he's wearing VR goggles with a handheld device while ALSO wielding a gun. That's a dangerous combo.

Also, why does Roadblock look purple? Did he come back from Wonka's factory after touching something he shouldn't have?

Super late to the party, but I ended up getting Mutt & Junkyard thanks to Doc's goddamn filecard project. Obvious newness bias, but I really like this guy. A little stiff in the joints, but not to the 'I think I'm going to break this' extent. The most fun figures Hasbro makes are definitely the ones where they go all out with the accessories. Hand options, head (for Junkyard) options. Mutt himself can be loaded out a lot of different ways between the muzzle, helmet, and different goggles.
Love the headsculpt with all that expressiveness, and the body hair is such a weirdly good touch. To the point where it actually feels like without it I'd probably like the figure quite a bit less?

Junkyard is a great figure that I hate posing. But, in defense of Hasbro on this, I've just never really enjoyed posing articulated animals. It takes forever for me to get it where it feels correct and natural, but is also doing the thing I want.

Anyway... loads of fun. Glad I got him.

It's weird putting him into the collection and realizing that he's one of the few characters I have that I also associate with watching the cartoon as a kid. Ironically, I have the cartoon Breaker, but I barely even remember Breaker being in the cartoon, so I get nothing from that. But I do remember Mutt.

But I don't have a Duke, Scarlett, Wild Bill, or Spirit. While, for some reason, those exact characters, along with Mutt, are the first ones to jump into my head when I think of the cartoon. Hm. I don't know what to do with that information but here we are.

If you guys like samurai shit and you slept on Shogun, then shame on you.
Also, Blue Eye Samurai for the 'not really realistic, but amazing' fix.
Can't believe I missed this a few days ago but yeah, Shogun is damned near perfect.

My best friend is Japanese and he refused to watch it for a while worried it was exploitative after I'd been hyping it up (burned too many times, of course) and I mentioned Sanada's involvement. Hilariously, last week he says "HAVE YOU SEEN SHOGUN YET?" and I'm like see bro, I told you it was good!

I gotta watch Blue Eye soon. I keep forgetting it's on my list.

My Target had Mainframe and Sci-Fi this weekend, made myself choose just one- they're both more impressive in person, but it had to be Sci-Fi. I think if I'd snagged him before he would have made my top ten.
Tough choice. Both are fantastic. Sci-Fi just lives next to my laptop in my office now though, he's rad.

I would make it a priority. It's absolutely great.

If I had to choose between the two, I'd go Sci-Fi just for the aesthetics of it. Mainframe seems like 'great figure, looks like all my other figures' whereas Sci-Fi is 'great figure, fuckin' POPS on the shelf.'
