After all the drama this week, decided to make a purchase lol

I have two of them and I think it's a good figure. Fiddly. But I like it.

I get the frustration. Nobody is forcing them to keep him so limited. I don’t think they’re shipping him out immediately after the kickstarter despite being made and in hand. If we have to wait for the rest of the items, why not just make him to order and make a few more? Seems like leaving easy money on the table for the sake of keeping something limited. Even as a joint kickstarter/SDCC exclusive he’d still be fairly limited in the end as the other figures may be more evergreen to keep retailers stocked.

Yeah the forced scarcity across the board is going to blow up in the industry's face soon. There's too many options and not enough money.

A lot of these boutique companies seem to have forgotten who they serve, or at least the way that power is supposed to flow.

Glad I can buy the Leopard head and tail as a separate set for cheap, since that is lierally the only thing I was interested in.

With Boss Fight revealing a goblin today, I half expect 4H fans to start calling foul and they resemble a certain green skinned Mythic Legions character and infringing on their character. Go buy the officially licensed Swigg at Store Horsemen!
I think it's pretty safe to say it's not a stolen design from 4H. What the hell Boss Fight?

The heads look good — in the render — but compare them to the horrible-looking product they're actually trying to sell. They're an embarrassment. The actual heads in the figure photos look like something you'd find at a Mexican road stand or wherever terrible bootlegs are found. I cannot believe these are the photos they're using to try and sell these guys. They should actually remove the render, it's false advertising.

I don't even have the energy for the outfit. I assume it's reuse, but a bright purple bodysuit and pixie boots? Are these based on a cartoon? Yikes.

Those heads kind of remind me of one of the characters from the Tom Cruise/Tim Curry movie "Legend".

man, that boss fight figure is so bad. But now I really want the goblins from Legend thanks to this thread, when do I see a pre-order at 5K? 😆

Can tell how closely I've been following the kickstarter given that it took me like five minutes to figure out the "epic paladin" wasn't the red-hooded cleric from the main kickstarter. Forced scarcity continues to baffle me though, whether it's a small company or an SDCC exclusive. You've got a license to print money, print it.

I'm... well torn isn't the right word because I have no emotional investment in it, but I wouldn't mind a few $30 figures (the basic heroes are kind of appealing), but the forever-DM backs-too-many-indie-TTRPGs guy in me knows they are going to cock up the game and make it unplayable and that kinda vaguely offends my sensibilities like a bad smell. And pointing out that the dwarf is probably based on a Kelse irrationally annoys me.

I'm curious what material they use for the minis. I'm a sucker for fun paintable 28mm minis, like 80% of the kickstarters I've backed over the years have been because of that, but I just have a feeling they'll be using that brittle 3d printed plastic instead of the good, durable, "can survive being dropped off the table by a player reaching for pizza" plastic that actual minis companies use.

That's actually a perfect description of that Sonja. Always fiddling with it to get it just right but it's a nice figure.

And Jesus H. Macy that Boss Fight goblin is embarrassing. WTF went wrong there?

I feel like I'm dog-piling but I say this as someone who will get a few of their player character figures and skip the game - I would LOVE to see the numbers at the end of it comparing how many people buy and play the game versus how many just get the figures. The video game elves and orcs certainly outlived the game itself.

We'll see how many people pledged for each tier during the Kickstarter. I agree, though, I think the vast majority of folks are just in it for the figures but that's why I think it's kinda smart to do it this way. No matter what happens with the game, the Kickstarter will be a huge success and it does get the game out there for 4H. Maybe it takes off, maybe not.

In any event, the sales will get it a lot of attention on Kickstarter where it'll be put in front of a lot of gaming folks who probably have no idea what Mythic Legions is. My opinion, as a non-gamer, is that the figures will again outlive the game but I will say this looks like a more solid offering than that terrible video game.

And I'm glad they course corrected on the Cleric. I'd actually written him off. I wasn't buying that $99 set. But now ...

Yeah, I like the color palette and face plate on that figure. I was more than okay skipping him if he was saddled with the game or an all-in, but I've been reading too many books with knights in them the past few weeks so I might cave.

It’s already not looking good for the “game” portion of this Kickstarter when the cult is yelling at them for locking a figure to THE GAME ITSELF

Granted, there’s 2.2k people watching this Kickstarter but as the guy up in the trees outside the nudist camp is always saying “watching’s always free”, but if every single one of those watchers bought a bundle or All-in a second run of 1500 figures would cover everything. (All of the 4H’s KS have been in the 1.5k backers range so far, I can’t imagine their runs are really that much larger than that)

Except the complaint was never “what if I don’t get one?!” the complaint was “what if I want more than one?!”

So now bundles and All-Ins are unlimited…

Except you can also add the figure as a solo add on…

So the complaint wasn’t “what if I want more than one?!” because unlimited bundles solved that… the complaint is “Fuck your game, give me my toy”
