Four Horsemen Studios Mythic Legions

Dwarves are the best thing about Mythic Legons

… you know what’s a bad thing?! That new “Evil Paladin” they just revealed, woof, like blue much there buddy?! And for $60?!?! Yeah, good luck with that… almost a good thing there’s no way he actually gets unlocked organically

(Just interrupting a very good discussion on much bigger things to chime with how funny it is how the one thing we're all in agreement on is okay fine, we can all agree the Mythic Legions dwarves are pretty darn good, whatever our other complaints are. The dwarven monk is a banger of a figure FWIW)
Genuinely trying to avoid looking at comparison pics of the 4H dwarves with the SC humans because that could cause me to actually want to get a 4H dwarf.

I don't really like the dwarves.
I think I can speak for everyone here that we're all tired of your contrarian, anti-4H attitude. You can't just come into MY house and steal my job.

I just had to go look this up and yeah... that is not good. And like.. -genuinely- not because I have a problem with the 4H. If they make a cool-looking toy, I'll say so. But that figure looks terrible. And by terrible I mostly mean it's very lazy and seemed to be put together without actual creative thought beyond 'change some colors and get it out there.'

So you don't want me to post Kreiger next to this dwarf since I have them standing next to each other on my desk?

(You know what's funny? The dwarf I like best with SC is the friggen Golden Axe dude, he most feels like he belongs side by side with SC. And I think Neca's D&D dwarf is arguably one of the best ones out there, but he's a like the Shaq of dwarves. Nearly tall as a Man.)

....You son of a bitch, I'm in.

I thought about that one, myself. But if I'm just gonna have one dwarf in the collection for a while, I think I'd rather go with the hyper armored-up look, since that's currently precisely what's lacking in SC.

Holy crap, I usually do NOT have a complaint about 4H's color choices, I honestly think a lot of their figures use really striking palettes, but that's... actively ugly.
And let’s not forget this is the unlock for hitting (Doctor Evil gif, I don’t feel like logging to Tapatalk to actually post)

ONE MILLION DOLLARS

The boring Skeleton thief who hasn’t exactly lit a fire under a sagging campaign was supposed to be the $1.5m unlock…

Big goals with two of the worst looking Mythic Legions I’ve ever seen as rewards.

We’ve said a lot about how they clearly don’t give two shits about the game in this Kickstarter, it’s weird seeng them clearly not give a shit about the toys either, just expecting both their cult and gamers on Kickstarter to hand over two million dollars for the lowest effort slop… I mean at least Grok would have put the Evil Paladin in a bikini!

I feel like, without even trying to shit on them in my usual way, this is just what happens when a 'small' studio like this really, truly does buy into their own hype. They can do no wrong. They are brilliant artists and the greatest toy makers of all time. They KNOW this to be true because they're told it every goddamn day. And once they believed it - effort and care went out the window because it's not like they even COULD make something bad. Right?
Gods don't make mistakes, after all.

Anyway... I'm colorblind. Did they actually paint that dickhead's face the same color as his boots?

@Damien - some comps:

Huh, I really like the blue tones. Trying to envision if any of the cat heads would look good on that body.

Yeah, now that I took these pics, they actually work better than Gilbert Thunderbucket or whatever his name is from Golden Axe. (Who is a GREAT figure, but a bit too tall, he reads more like a short human than a dwarve next to SC.)

You know what's funny is they put that ugly paladin as one of the base level figures for 29 bucks and the spare head and stuff for 15? I won't even make fun of it. It's a perfectly acceptable bunch of parts for pulling apart and customizing with. It's the fanfare taht gets me. Especially putting him alongside the other sixty dollar figure in the KS. I don't think the paladin is a sixty dollar figure but he's PRETTY. Like the black and gold pops, he looks nice! This guy's color palette looks like when I misjudge the contrast between blue and black when I'm painting minis and have to start over.

Actually, not using a blue-skinned head with the blue boots and gloves would be an improvement. I wonder if he has a tail slot. The black panther head and tail might not look bad on it. (Which again is why if he were a 30 dollar base figure I wouldn't really knock it, it's the 60 dollar buy in that makes him feel chintzy to me.)

Oh, the blue head is terrible with it (Game of Thrones makes everyone want to do a blue head it seems), but the armor and shield colors interest me. But probably not $60 interest.

I was going to say the panther head with the blue, silver and maybe a little green would make a great Seattle Seahawks style panther knight, but worry that @PantherCult might be mortified.

You know, the Jaguar Ranger from the $15 add in the campaign (or Ba’lam if you want a neutral face) might look good on it, since the yellow fur would at least pop against the blues. (Or like Doc said, the black panther might look good too)
