Yes, this is TMNT related.

You mean to tell me that Playmates had this kind of effort in them this entire God damn time...

...and they opted on the bullshit they gave us? What in the actual hell?

I know next to nothing about this property. But I can tell you that the 6 inch figures of Carl, the demon guy, and the goat guy are incredible. And it actually, genuinely pisses me off seeing these and then what minimal effort they put into their Turtles offerings.

AND their current Power Rangers shit, for that matter!

I think Playmates as a company has a lot of outdated assumptions about the toy industry. They place properties like TMNT and MMPR in the kid bucket while something like this clearly is not. Maybe losing the license finally gets them to realize the error of their ways.

Replying to this thread with this bit of info instead of the one in general because it actually does relate to TMNT:

So it looks like DCC is getting some form of TV show produced by Seth McFarlane’s production company (and look, I know he an Todd have different last names, I’m not gonna look up if I spelt the right one here since I’m not mentioning him again)

So I’m thinking Playmates sees this as their next Ninja Turtles. They found this popular crass underground property about to be adapted to TV, where undoubtedly some of the rougher edges will be sanded off in the process, they get in for a song at the ground level and boom: Train to money town!

I don’t think the success of something like a TMNT will ever happen again, not in this capitalist Hellscape, so there’s no way Playmates gets a sweetheart deal to control a HUGE license again for forty goddamn years but short term this could work out for them, at very least it gives them something to lean on while they figure themselves out.
