Not to get too far off here, but maybe one of you Conan guys can help me out.

Reading the early Marvel issues. Enjoying them. I know at some point Savage Sword of Conan becomes a thing. Would I have to read that too to stay caught up story wise?

Right now Conan looks more like what we've seen of his figure in this Yag Kosha 2-pack. Is this the look he keeps in the Marvel comics? What would you say BFS' current single release of Conan is based on?
 
It's been a long time but I think Savage Sword (and later, King Conan) are basically fully separate titles. I think the regular 'Conan the Barbarian' is a single story in and of itself.

The slightly slimmer look with the goofy front-horns helmet is definitely young Conan. He'll change looks throughout the Marvel run. You're looking at 1970s Marvel Conan. I think the other BFS Conan is more like.. late 80s, early 90s Conan. Same comic, though. Just close to like issue 250 than issue 2.

Edit: I flipped through some issues and I was wrong. Looks like the original BFS Conan is based more on around Conan the Barbarian 58-60ish. Which is also when Belit first appears.

Savage Sword was a magazine that Marvel did to basically have more graphic, violent stories in comic form, without having to worry about the Comics Code. It was sold on magazine stands instead of the spinner racks, so it was considered "adult" reading. This is where the vast majority of the REH adaptations were done, and most of the stories were fairly self-contained. Technically, they would be in the same continuity as the main Conan the Barbarian comic, but the two titles didn't cross over or typically reference each other. You don't need to read both, though you may find yourself wanting to once you've read through the main title. Some truly fantastic art, and the action is more in keeping with Howard's brutal depictions.

So…I’ve read rumblings that there is 4th wave in the works for Popeye - I’m sure I’m in the minority, but I would be beyond thrilled if it was based on the live action movie…

I hope they show us the 4th wave soon. Have you seen anything suggesting when the figures will be shown or go up for pre-order?Personally, I would prefer if they stick with the Segar comics, but movie figures could be cool. I wonder how hard it would be to get Robin Williams' likeness rights.

Edit to add: I wonder if movie figures would be more popular than the lower-tier comic characters the line has gotten to. I'm surprised wave 3 sold enough to justify a fourth wave. Though, I think a wave of Alice, Geezil, Popeye in boxing attire, and a big boxing opponent would sell decently.

I had my eye on it for awhile... but decided to throw Red Sonja into a recent purchase to go on my misc shelf, which includes a couple Conan figs. overall a nice figure, but the joints seem a bit loose and bits will pop off if your aggressive with it... also... odd that they didnt sculpt a pair of skivvies on her... seems like some chain mail shorts would have been nice.
 
My basic bucks arrived yesterday from Entertainment Earth. I got the male in champagne beige (female did not ship) and the coffee male and female.

The male torso has great range using a ball joint, but does expose a gaping hole in extreme poses. The female foes not have this same ROM.

I'm pleased! Smooth articulation and decent extra hands and feet. Hopefully they make these in more colors like red, blue, green, black and yellow.

Traditionally, Sonja is shown to have some sort of brown thong on under her armor. She does wear underwear. So she should at least have been painted under there.

That was my expectation as well... she looks fine once you have her kitted out the way you want but I guess I feared she might accidentally "flash" the other action figures on the shelf...

I'm still waiting on my grey ones from BBTS. I was wondering if ANYONE had gotten theirs because I kept waiting for reviews to pop online for the finals and none showed up. Hopefully I like them when they come in, btu I do think I'd like some other colors. These will, I think, largely be for art reference, but I could see customizing if they throw some other colors out there.
