Beast Kingdom DC Figures

I wish I had found this forum/thread. Out of blasted curiosity I bought a Beast Kingdom Bale Batman and it kind of is both cool and sucks at the same time.
Cool = the plastic in hand feels premium and solid, the likeness and paint are great; wired cloth cape is nice; while scale IS weird, for me its pleasantly weird
Not cool = Literally no other brand of figures I've ever bought had joints this loose. The right hand is forever limp with any hand I stick there (will shove some putty or something in the hole later to fix it), hard to pose because hip joints are loosy goosy, hard to pose because the range of motion isnt great either; the bat-belt is oddly bulky and his over all body is weirdly skinny like a plank. This is how it was right out of the sealed box.
The best I can do with posing is making the cape flow over him to hide his weird body and limp wrist and fanny pack.

Despite that, I am going to get Hal and Flash just because I havent seen any GL/Flash from McF that I like (even the ones that are up for preorder soon, I dont like the designs). But outside of that, unless they make a really great and awesome Wonder Woman, I doubt I'd buy any more Beast Kingdom anything.

Yeah, that sounds about right with the latest BK releases. Sorry to hear your Bale isn't very good (mine wasn't either).

I'm definitely curious to hear how it goes with Hal and Barry, though. I'm not buying the newer releases because of the issues I've had, but I really really hope they get better. I'd love to be able to go back to them.

Also, welcome! This place is awesome, great people here. Ask around about the initiation protocols.

Got the Alex Ross style Batman today super early off eBay.
I’ve bought a ton of beast kingdom, and they are very hit and miss, but this is definitely one of their better figures.
Great head sculpt, tight joints, very happy with it so far.

That is great to hear. I was a bit concerned about these Alex Ross figures since there were body issues in the ones from SDCC. I am now looking forward to picking these up as well since I am a big Alex Ross fan and they look great.

Any chance you can post a picture of your Batman?
I noticed on EBay from the packaging photo that Green Lantern has been improved. It appears that the neck is now not fully green. He now has a the upper neck painted a flesh color as it should be. I have a feeling this might end up being my favorite Hal Jordan figure.

I really like the Ross inspired JL figures. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but they are tempting, for sure. The QC issues really concern me though.

I like the heads sculpt and the design of the S shield on his chest, those are nice. Maybe it's just me, but his torso looks really long and from the yellow belt to his feet it almost looks like a different scale compared to everything above the belt.

There might be a fun kitbash in there somewhere if you could take the head/arms/upper chest and connect them with something that is closer to their scale. That torso is crazy work though lol Or maybe the trunks are just too small/short? I dunno, hits my eye weird.

I just received my Beast Kingdom figures from AliExpress last night.

The sculpts are a 10/10.
Paint apps are fantastic although Hal had white paint on one leg which I was able to remove with my wife's nail polish remover
The upper boots on some figures are glued and others are not. I wish they were not glued at all. When I took Flash out of the packaging I was quite worried because the top of his boots were up high exposing the red of his legs but was able to slide them down.
Superman's ankle joints are quite loose. The top of his boots are glued on well. I might try to loosen it up with heat. If I can get the boots to cover the ankle joints it might stand better on his own.
Superman's belt was glued and the sides were put to low on the briefs but the glue broke easily and was able to move it up.
Batman's cape is a nice pleather and Superman's cape does have the yellow S on the back. Both capes are wired.

The only accessory other than McFarlane style stands and an assortment of hands is Hal's Lantern. It would have been nice if a construct was also included, or at least a Batarang for Batman. They are great representations of Alex Ross' art from Justice. Green Lantern is the exception to this as Alex Ross normally draws him with painted (as opposed to white) eyes and uses the Silver Age costume. Truthfully I prefer this look for Hal and he is my favorite figure of the bunch.

With coupons I got them for under $50 each with free shipping. If you are an Alex Ross fan, I do recommend these to you.
Hopefully they release a Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter next.
