It's been 20 years since we left ToyBiz and joined Hasbro with Hercules, Banshee, Emma Frost, X3 Beast, Ultimate Iron Man, Planet Hulk and Annihilus.
Could the 20th Anniversary be the annual anniversary offering/program?
If so, what do you think we'll see in an anniversary assortment/wave?
From what I can tell there hasn't been any sort of leak about this happening, and very few of the current rumored/leaked toys seem to be anniversary-based.

Here's what we do know:
-Jim Hammond Human Torch is more than likely coming soon. He's recognized as the first Marvel hero, so including him in an Anniversary wave would fit.
-Dwight and Dan keep mentioning horses in various conversations at con panels and fan streams. Maybe there's a deluxe horse with removable wings in our future. Fans have been asking for a horse for quite a while, so including a horse with a rider for as an anniversary set would fit.
-Hasbro never makes a peep about Annihilus, but he would be PERFECT to celebrate the 20th anniversary since he was the first Hasbro BAF. Annihilus was also one of the Articulated Thoughts cards the team received, and we know at least four of the characters depicted on the cards are coming this year.
-Mole Man & the Moloids are on the rumor/leak list, and Mole Man was in an early Hasbro wave.

What would you like to see in a 20th Anniversary assortment/wave?

I was so disenchanted with Hasbro after those first few years that it took me a few years after they actually improved to really adjust and change my stance on them. It wasn't until they fully gave up on a 3 3/4" line that things finally started to move in the right direction.

When I think of the early days of Hasbro what I specifically think of right away are those TRU exclusives for the Diamond Emma, Black Queen Jean and all silver Wolverine. Wow, were those awful.

If they're smart, they won't do anything to recognize or remind us of how it all started for them.

Honestly, I'd pass up remembering the Dark Years of Marvel Legends (not getting redos of some of those figures, but a reminder of a time when they obviously put no effort at all into the figures).

However, that said, I think it's a great time for an 85 Years of Captain America Anniversary wave. I posted this wishlist elsewhere, but as it is relevant to the topic at hand, this is what I'd go with...

  1. Isaiah Bradly Captain America (Retro Secret Wars Cap body, new head and shield) vs Red Skull (MCU Matt Murdock suit body in black with Xemnu wave heads, luger, and Cosmic Cube)
  2. 1st Appearance Captain America (MvC Cap lower torso and legs, new head, scaley torso and upper arms, and shield) and Bucky (XM97 Bucky limbs, new head and torso)
  3. The Captain (MvC repaint with a new, alternate US Agent head) vs Flag-Smasher (Walgreens Sentry body, War Journal Punisher limbs, new head, belt, gloves, and mace)
  4. Steve Rogers: Nomad (Grim Reaper torso, Retro Secret Wars Cap limbs, new head and cape) vs Doctor Faustus (Hammerhead body with new classic and Epting-styled heads)
  5. 90's Armor Captain America (new sculpt) vs Sin (new sculpt)
  6. Deluxe Ameridroid/12" Captain America (new classic sculpt with calm and angry heads)

Great list! I still have my 12" Captain America subbing in as Ameridroid on one of my villains shelves.

Needs more Serpent Society, but otherwise perfect.
I also wanted to add a Human Torch I and Toro set, but I feel like they did about 6 releases, so I had to stop somewhere; knowing Hasbro, they'd probably only want to do sets with Cap included. But yeah, more Serpent Society members are always welcome!
