    Mattel DC Figures

Volume, plus the inaccessibility of the property following actual generations of reboots has cratered the book's ability to grow its fanbase. I've only read the Levitz and Giffen stuff myself (and I think I checked the book out when Waid was doing it, but I don't remember much of his work), but...

    1/12 Diorama/Terrain/Props/Vehicles

Oh man, is the boat down that low now? I've been thinking about that for a long time. There's a long tradition of unnecessary boat chases in 80s and 90s HK action that I need to celebrate. But I keep looking at those long-nosed RC speedboats from the era online. They're usually pretty expensive...

    1/12 Diorama/Terrain/Props/Vehicles

Super cool, but I honestly don't need things like working lights or a motorized winch or pack-in figures. I just want 1/12 vehicles that are affordable so I can get multiples for chase scenes.

    ML Secret Wars

Man, it's been awhile since I've wanted multiple figures from an ML wave. Getting Magik and Daredevil.

Seriously. A lot of collectors disparage the Kenner line, but I grew up on that and I loved all the ridiculous metallic and purple and teal Batmen. And the crazy vehicles! Batman's a wealthy guy with serious arrested development, he should always have just the dumbest vehicles and they should...

    Mattel DC Figures

I never paid all that much attention to the Legion but now I want a solo book about her that's so glammed up that any comic shop carrying it has to install a mirrorball and lighted floor panels.

Sorry, I'm just gonna be over here having flashbacks to the shipping on the Street Masters Kickstarter.

We all know people have never made money selling 20 different Batmen before.

I'd be way more concerned for MOTU than DC over that, but MOTU's got the movie coming out.

Like, I believed you. I'm just confused. We have a finger for rings! It's named for that! This is why those jerks keep getting rebooted.

Wait, does the Legion wear their flight rings on their middle finger? Why not on their ring finger?

    Hasbro Harry Potter

There's also basically a mini-generation between the prequel and sequel trilogies that thinks of Clone Wars as their Star Wars. And I don't know if Star Wars is really going to be forever, it feels like younger people have drifted away from it more and more with each successive generation, but...

Agreed. In a world where Rod Serling once lived, I refuse to settle for less.

I mean, it would shock me if Johns wasn't a figure collector. Every single story of his reads like it was first told through a figure collection.

    Mattel DC Figures

It was a bad wave attempting to tie into the popular crossover at the time, a crossover that had demonstrated success as a figure line through DCD. It was just a misread of the DCUC audience, although I'm guessing they were also trying to play ball with retail after sticking them with tons of...

    Mattel DC Figures

I don't know if that was executive order, but that being the Boomerang look at that time and him getting a resurgence of focus from Brightest Day probably made it seem like a sensible choice. I actually like the longshoreman look for him quite a bit -- Boomer having a darker-toned look for...

Lol, what about Cho Chang, whose name is a combination of two surnames from two different cultures? Great research there, Jo.

Yeah, I think it's probably going to be the core part of another accessory set, which is fine with me because I have and love the first one. But if ever there was a way to make the best Final Girl in the series viable at retail...Hell, she could even be largely Ms. Voorhees reuse, considering...

    Hasbro Harry Potter

I don't know the first thing about being a parent, but I think at 12 they're ready to have the, "This person believes horrible things and engaging with their art means engaging with that" and "This is how to research where your money's really going" talks. I was already listening to Rage Against...

There's no separating the art from the artist. In this case, the art directly funds Rowling's anti-trans campaigns, which have already influenced UK law.

Money going to a transphobe is no good. Hope it fails.

Looks like we're getting some kind of reveal on Friday related to this tease, maybe even an order window? Curious where they're going with this. Maybe an update of the old 25th Anniversary set or another accessory/diorama pack. My dream is that they're going to hit one of my bucket list figures...

    Mattel DC Figures

I seem to remember the Secret Six ongoing implied there was maybe a group of Killer Moths, which reminded me a lot of the Monarch's henchmen from Venture Bros. I kind of want someone to explore that as a fun alternative to the Court of Owls or whatever.

I'll take any and all Zatannas that don't require me to buy a pack-in figure, until such time as Zatanna is given a cute but sinister familiar in a trope that I have in no way stolen from shows like Madoka. (I think it should be less catlike and more rabbity, though.) I'm more of a Magic DC fan...

    1/12 Diorama/Terrain/Props/Vehicles

I have a 1:12 Joust cabinet from an Etsy seller way back (I'll have to look up my account history and see if I can find the seller again) and a Galaga one that was actually an official Namco release. It's not a playable one, just a replica. I really could use a Simpsons one and a Street Fighter II.
