General Marvel Legends

Magik looks great and I'm so happy her training suit is vibrant yellow as opposed to the muted one Sunspot got in the '97 wave. Hopefully the Cypher reveal will have the same vibrant yellow. The reason Dan gave for including Magik in the wave was hilarious! (Paraphrasing) "Well, she appeared in a panel in Secret Wars II".
The funny thing is that Dan is wrong about that. Magik was involved in at least two or three fights across the core title, and the New Mutants had a pretty major tie-in with Secret Wars II, during which the Beyonder completely wrote them out of existence. Now, Constrictor on the other hand? Daredevil? I don't think either of them even had a panel. Yes, I know they're included because of the original toy line, but it's still funny.

Well, there was something for everyone there. The stream started really strong for me - love Falcon, like Absorbing Man and Daredevil a lot. Could have used some texture to Constrictor’s suit, but it’s still an improvement.

I’m glad for all the Magik fans out there and she looks fine, but that figure could have slotted into half a dozen other waves - I can’t see Volcana getting another shot unless they do wave 3. Spidey is a fun curio, but in these expensive days, not a chance.

I’d have picked up solo Muse, but don’t need that Bullseye. The Crossing Set is bizarre, but it doesn’t offend me and it’s an easy skip. Don’t need Onslaught or Archangel (it feels like a new one of him comes along every few months anyway…)

Thor though… Love the accessories, really love Throg. But hate that they’re all locked in with a Thor that I don’t like any aspect of. Don’t want the costume, don’t like soft good capes, not keen on any of the head or hair sculpts. I bought Deadpool for Doop as it was a decent figure in its own right, but can’t see myself ever springing for this, so hope Throg gets another outlet.

Shame they didn’t show off any more Hulk stuff - maybe this weekend.

I’m sure I have some spare arms for the Hulk Classics Creel (because I’m 100 years old). Wonder if they’d swap out…

Ah.

Yeah, nearly everybody.

Although that Muse could pass for a live action one if you squint…

In for Magik and Daredevil, 97 Archangel (I don't know why he has clawed fingertips or a laser rifle instead of the metal feathers attachment from X-Force Archangel), and Onslaught Era Quicksilver. Nonplussed by reissue Onslaught, the head still looks janky, especially with the proper looking helmet literally to the left of him on the card art.

Might get the symbiote-infected Spidey on sale and that tactical Bullseye just to see if I can make him into some sort of jewel thief Gambit or something.

Something to look forward to but nothing that feels like an avalanche of plastic headed my way.

I just hope they don't punish us with another classic Avengers embargo when the Crossing sets go very quickly to Ross/Ollies.
'Well, these sets didn't do as well as expected, just like the Avengers Anniversary sets, so we're gonna take a little break from the Avengers."

Also, in 2-3 years:
"We heard you, Fans! Here's the deluxe Absorbing Man with all the swappable part you'd like. We're listening!

This can't possibly be true... That Constrictor figure was bad at the time it was released... and has aged poorly since. Constrictor was one of the most 'in need of update' figures Hasbro ever made. (Doc Sampson is also on that list).
The only thing I could see the original having over the new one is the darker blues. Everything else about that figure sucks on its own, much less when compared to a much improved version. You can't even remove his tentacles!

Constrictor looks like he was sculpted by Michelangelo himself compared to what we got with Cyber in that Wolverine 5pk.

Promo pics of the Secret Wars wave.

Glad to see Magik has a proper sword holding hand.

The "resting" wings on Falcon look good - really glad he and Black Bolt have gotten both sets - this is a good practice that should be encouraged. They're clearly working their way up to an epic Stingray with full open and resting wing sets!

The red c-clip on Redwing is insane. This screams "safety standard" to me, where pieces below a certain size can't be translucent or something. That, or Redwing has a rarely-used flaming bird dropping maneuver they were trying to show off.

I don't care for that blue color. We will see if it matches even the vintage Secret wars figure or if it is brighter. I prefer the black
(let's be real he's black not blue-blue/gray), and the Tentacles that can be bent as apposed to the curly cue tentacles. ( I would assume if you have one of the 3 Omega reds released you could swap any of those tentacles.)

The only thing really bad about the Terrax Constrictor is the lack of ankle pivot. The ball hips aren't great but function. If they release this figure in black I would consider it.

Yeah... I dunno. This Constrictor is definitely a full and complete upgrade. Doesn't mean anyone has to hate the old one, of course. But trying to argue the old one is just as good, or better, as this new one would be wacky sauce.
