Masters of the Universe: Origins

I also recevied the Great Black WIzard yesterday, and he's fine. I don't know the character, so I don't relate to the hype. He definitely looks good, but more like a busy, over-designed Skeletor. I'm happy to add him to the Preternia set, as he looks nice with sketchbook He-Man, Sharella, Red Shadow, Demo-Man, and Hellfire.
 
My excitement is way more about finally finishing him in classics... I have wanted all of those Gimenez designed characters in Classics for years but GBW had "new" pieces that couldn't be cobbled together, so this release lets me finish that build. Red Shadow was another one where the official head release got popped on my Classics build immediately.

I do wonder if we are due for Bandwidth and Gladiator in the Origins line soon.
 
I got GBW and Sketchbook He-Man in. Both of these are excellent. They look so cool. I really like getting all of these Preternia/Powers of Grayskull figures. I'm excited Gray is coming soon, but we need Eldor too.


But I have always wanted Great Black Wizard since the Classics days, and I hope they keep making more of the Gimenez characters and other concept characters from that Classics era.

Were Hans Hammerholder and Bubb-Lor (was that the character's name? There was some Bubble guy lol.) were they Gimenez too or someone else?
 
Hans Hammerholder was Gimenez for sure, reusing Ram Man parts.

Bubblor is not - Bubblor was part of the create-a-character contest they did, so it was fan designed.

He really needs the evil unicorn he's riding in the mini-comic. Gives him a bit of character on the shelf that he's lacking. Plus they have the swiftwind mold....
 
I skipped Wizard and Dragstor in an attempt to cut back a bit but the trailer has me thinking about this line more and more and I think I'm gonna order them.

Just got notification that Blast-Attak is being added to Creations and their gif in the marketing email is absolutely ridiculous and I appreciate, in this age of bad marketing, someone taking the time to make a silly gif in a promo email, as weird as that is.

Got Marlena today. I tend to favor Masterverse style over Origins, but it is wild how cool it is to finally for the first time in my life have both Randor and Marlena in my collection even if it's in my secondary MOTU line.

Also got the concept art He-Man from Target this afternoon and ordered the Hellfire figures at the same time - ever have one of those weeks where everything goes so badly you just order a few figures you weren't going to get just for the fricken dopamine? That was this order for me. But that being said, the concept art He-Man is really cool. I like him a lot more than I anticipated.

Sometimes I forget that you started collecting pretty much after MOTUC had already ended, didn't you?

Yeah, I really didn't start "adult" collecting even a bit until like 2015 or so. By the time I had the ability to start buying action figures again, MOTUC was an insanely elite investment. If I ever seem goofily happy with Masterverse and Origins it's cause I had assumed I would NEVER own MOTU figures in my adult life.
 
Yeah same here . I only started to get into masters of the universe around 2019 so I'm just happy to have new toys available (somewhat) easily at all . I also received marleena and my 200x evil lyn is set to arrive on February 2. I'm really excited for that as despite the wrong color skin tone it's still a really good adaptation of what I think Is my favorite evil-lyn look. I assume this is the place to talk about the 200x cartoon collection? I didn't see another thread for it .

Yep, talk about 200X Origins right here. I'm loving these 200X Origins figures.

But tomorrow is all about BLAST ATTACK. Finally, we get this loveable android of the Snake Men turned suicide bomber in our collection and one step closer to completing the vintage collection. Blast Attack. Like C-3PO, but for Al 'Qaeda (which I think is on the new file card)
 
I forgot to post at the time, but I got Blast Attack earlier. I got x2. It was one of the fastest checkouts I've ever done. Did anyone else here get Blast Attack today?

I guess though if you don't have the Club Grayskull membership, you do have to wait until tomorrow to get Blast Attack.

I think they have been getting diminishing returns on the Creations exclusive releases. Especially Origins figures. What was the last Origins exclusive that sold out very quickly? Exclusive Two-Bad?

As to the sale, while nice to see the Fright Zone and Castle Grayskull included I was able to get a second She-Ra and Swiftwind at the end of December for 30% off an already reduced price. So not the greatest deal they have had on that set to date. I'm going to wait and see ifa better deal shows up for the Fright Zone and Castle Grayskull (at least 30% off).
