Muppets (including The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock)

It’s 5 bucks less than a S7 Ultimate in the post tariff world and will be much much better than any of their output. NECA has had some odd pricing as of late but credit where credit is due, they might be the best bang for buck on the domestic market. I wish he was $49.99 but I also wish a lot of things were the same price as a couple years ago.

Someone on FB speculated that the unannounced figure could come out at Target's Haulathon in March. This seems like a fair guess to me because it helps explain the long delay between Count and Big Bird releases. Maybe NECA was producing the next figure to be ready for March. NECA could reveal the figure at Toy Fair in a couple of weeks ahead of it going on sale. I certainly hope this is the case because I want the line to maintain momentum, and I don't want to wait as long for the next figure. It's just a guess, but thought it was worth sharing here.

NECA posted a photo of Big Bird with the previous releases and he's about double Ernie's height. Making him much smaller than what he should be. But I'm ok with it.

The solicitation states Big Bird is over 10 inches tall. The Palisades Sweetums is 10.25 inches. I'm hoping Big Bird is at least a little taller than Sweetums, but I'm fine if they're similar height (which it seems is the case). I'm happy with the scale in the photo.

Its OK, but I am a little disappointed. I think since they will never make the human cast (I assume) I can live with it - I agree that the other Muppets are too big for 1:10 scale. But Big Bird scaled to the other Muppets is too small by a good 25% I think - it is also noticeable in the size of the heads.

I always thought all the first wave of NECA Sesame St should have been a half inch or so shorter. But that's me wanting them to scale with Palisades Muppets.
I initially thought they were a little too tall, also. After putting them on display with my Palisades figures, I now think they scale pretty perfectly. Ernie is slightly taller than Scooter and shorter than most of the other Muppets, which feels about right to me. Bert and Count are also taller than some and shorter than others. Maybe the scale doesn't seem right to some, or is actually incorrect based on some official style guide, but they feel pretty good to me.

Here's some photos that do a terrible job of showing how well the two, or three counting the BFS Fraggles, look with each other. I think they'll look even better when NECA makes some smaller characters, like Sherlock Hemlock and Mr. Johnson.
