Third Party Figures

I have a friend who reads comics. Reads them. Doesn't look at or care about the art. Wouldn't know what Jim Lee or Joe Madureira were if they bit him. He reads an issue in like two minutes and says he gets all he needs.
I mean, I guess if he's having fun that's all that matters.

If you liked The Tragedy of Man, you'd probably like Son of the White Mare.
I'm picky about anime, but I generally love animation. Brains process different media in all sorts of crazy ways. I have a friend who just doesn't "get" music, like he hears rhythm and melody, but gets nothing out of them. And his parents were both professional musicians. My dad is a voracious reader and he watches movies here and there, but he cannot tell you the plot or the characters of any book, movie, or show a few hours after he consumed it and he's never been able to. He just remembers the emotional impression it left (liked it, indifferent, hated it).

This one seems fun:

I’m going to take a quick stab in the dark and guess his name is Basket-Case? (Double pun not intended)

I think you're right. I have that buck on PO at least.
I never really understood the economics of how these 3rd party companies can make sense.

Like how many fury bosses can they really be selling?

And then you’re going to make an accessory kit that maybe is exciting for 10% of those? Just doesnt really seem to make sense to me that I makes any kind of profit to do that

I think it's a separate subset of the hobby. I've met a few people who are deep into all these third party bodies with custom soft goods or accessory kits and they don't collect anything from Hasbro or Mafex or whoever.

I know one girl who just likes to make pop stars. And a guy who just makes civilians as art for a personal dio.

Economics of scale.

These are for the Chinese market, not America.

The population of America is 342m people, if 0.5% of the population collects toys, and 0.5% would be interested in a blank body you buy upgrades for, if the intended kit 10% of that half percent-of-a-half percent of the population you’re looking at 850 sale which isn’t enough to justify mass production.

The population of China is 1.42b people, same numbers (10% of a half percent of a half percent) you’re looking at an audience of 3.5k, and since most limited runs are 2k or less that’s a pretty large audience (especially since you’ll still probably sell a few units to foreign markets)

… that said this is like Chun-Li overload. You got the official Jada, Stom (both scales), 52 Toys, Revoltech, the 3rd Party Quinn Lee, the Whale Works blank with the Chun-Li head, and 5k just put up different Chongsam for a different battle costume Chun-Li…

But THAT said this one kinda looks like an anime version of Ming Na, soooo… hmmmm

It is chin li overload geek there’s way more female fighting game characters you can sexualize in figure form.

Juri for the foot guys, cammy is obvious. I would like a really good darkstalkers roster too

A kit for Poison would sell out within minutes, and it'd be so easy to do Karin and Sakura kits side by side with each other. Same exact kit excluding Karin's athletic wear and gloves.

I ordered 2 more figures over the weekend.

KEYAKI Hobby 1/12 Seductive Beast`s Fruit No.001 Shion Moriyuki from HobbySearch
and KEYAKI Hobby 1/12 Seductive Beast's Fruit No.002 Ranran from Bombusbee

Replying to myself from the past because 5k just sent me a 2nd payment notice for the reissue of RomankeyXCowl woman… will be as floptastic as the bootleg?!?! Did I waste my money buying an official one hoping it would be good?!?! Time to pay up then play the waiting game and find out!
Just got mine in the mail, and can confirm: official release is WAAAAAY better than the bootleg copies. Can actually hold her arms up in a pose! If you want a RomankeyXCowl do not buy Amazon or eBay, go to 5k, the official one cost less too.

Now I’m unbelievably hyped for Oni Girl
