G.I. Joe Head Canon & Fanfic Filecards

Not sure this can be done in cards, but I'm curious how the general populace views Lewis. Is he popular? Is authoritarianism a gradual slide?

Once I’ve got the right number of file cards written up, I’m going to try out newspaper headlines or something like that to supplement the story and world build a bit. I think Lewis probably has a decent number of people bamboozled, but there’s a strong current of “did you see a Joe? No you didn’t” subversive vibe among people too.

By request:

Code Name: Snow Job (Disavowed)
File Name, Moore, Harlan W.
Primary Military Specialty: Arctic Ski Patrol
Secondary Military Specialty: Rifle Instructor
Birthplace: Rutland, Vermont
Rank: E-6

Subject accepted early retirement with the disbanding of the GI Joe Unit, and in fact was one of the more vocal in expressing his relief. His official statement included: "You guys won. Not my monkey, not my problem anymore." Moore proceeded to go on a TED Talk style speaking tour, not about being a GI Joe veteran but about his life as an Olympic-class biathlete. He gives celebrity rifle and skiing lessons and has a book deal through Simon & Schuster titled "It Ain't All Good Powder: Living Life One Slope at a Time." He currently divides his time between a high-end ski resort in Vermont and a cabana in the Florida Keys. Operatives witnessed a meeting between Moore and Philip "Chuckles" Provost, but the two were recorded speaking warmly of their former colleagues but that they firmly believed anyone taking action against the Lewis administration was suicidal. Recommendation: reduce surveillance to allocate those resources to higher threats.

"We've said it before but it bears repeating: we didn't start calling him Snow Job because he's on the arctic squad. Dude can scam anyone, any time, anywhere. If he'd ever been close enough to Cobra Commander for ten minutes he'd have walked away with chrome dome's mask. He's playing up this motivational speaker thing so he can move across the country easier, helping keeping lines of communication open, meeting with potential financiers for Hawk's work. And somehow he's making a lot of scratch on the speaker circuit - you wouldn't believe what those stuffed shirts in corporate America will pay a tough guy ex soldier to tell their employees how to be all they can be. Meanwhile Snow Job is giving them all advice he would never ascribe to himself. Like I said, he could talk the chrome off a bumper and the bikini off a model and still have time for a black diamond run..."

I keep hoping they do a 2.0 who's less bulky, though he's actually REALISTICALLY bulky for the work he does. What I really need is more arctic Joes for him to hang out with.

One more, just had an idea and ran with it:

Code Name: Shockwave (Disavowed)
File Name, Faria, Jason A.
Primary Military Specialty: Special Weapons and Tactics
Secondary Military Specialty: Choir
Birthplace: Dearborn, Michigan
Grade: E-4

Subject accepted early retirement from the GI Joe Unit but unlike many of his peers, he sought out work in law enforcement, returning to his pre-Joe career. Surveillance has found that he has acclimated back to civilian society well and avoided contact with his former colleagues, while leveraging his military experience to become part of an anti-violence task force. Faria has been earmarked as a potential Joe to recruit into the Lewis administration as a possible convert to the cause. He also sings with a local choir every weekend.

"You know those old thrillers about cops going undercover in a biker gang or the mob and how they're living in constant fear for their lives? Shockwave's doing the opposite of that - he's undercover as a cop, keeping tabs on how law enforcement agencies are caving to Lewis's demands and teetering dangerously toward martial law, or some clown shoes knockoff version of it. Shockwave is behind the blue line, gathering intel on police movements against ex-Joes, stealing or destroying evidence, and throwing the proverbial pepper in the hound's nose as Lewis's loyalists look for us. He's been invaluable helping Stalker get his operation set up in Detroit, and Stalker's promised to raise holy hell to get Shockwave out of there if his cover is blown. Ex-cop and ex-gang warlord teaming up to stop a fascist regime... I hope if we see the other side of this Hollywood makes a hell of a movie about them. I just hope Shockwave lives to see it."

I can't sleep, so here's another one:

Code Name: Beachhead (Disavowed)
File Name, Sneeden, Wayne R.
Primary Military Specialty: Infantry
Secondary Military Specialty: Small arms armorer
Birthplace: Auburn, Alabama
Grade: E-6

Subject was on-site the day the Pit was closed down. Several members of the GI Joe Unit had to be escorted from the premises. Sneeden was not one of them. In fact, no one among the Lewis loyalists saw Sneeden leave. It is believed, however, that Sneeden simply accessed the armory, loaded up several crates with ammunition and explosives, and walked out without saying a word. It was several weeks before surveillance teams were able to locate him, but by that time, three members of the Fred program had been assassinated outside their homes in Westport Connecticut, Westchester New York, and Chevy Chase Maryland, all of which are attributed to Sneeden. Subject is considered very armed and extremely dangerous, and is believed to be targeting mid-level members in the Lewis administration in order to draw out a greater response.

"I don't know where the rumor got started that Beachhead is tempermental. Dude is the embodiment of 'revenge is best served cold.' He's out there squatting in the rain in some Lewis toadie's five acres of green space, drinking from vernal pools and eating whatever he can scrounge up, just waiting for the moment to put one between the eyes of one of these CeeGees who are acting as government attorneys or financiers. He's been so effective that Hawk has actually asked him to cool it. Hawk wants to do it the right way, but so does Beachhead. They just have a different definition of 'right.' And to be fair, with some of the things Lewis has done since taking office, I'm not entirely convinced Beachhead's 'right' isn't the best one."

Christ. You did Beachhead the complete opposite of dirty. I love it. His is definitely in my top three and not just because I already love the character.
