Star Trek

Is Nacelle at nycc? I’m seeing “background set pieces” renderered with some figures. Any of thess been displayed in person?

Nothing in wave 1 interested me, but wave 2 has Ens. Nog*, T'Pol, and a TOS Romulan that I'm pretty keen on. I don't think I realized these were 7" figures before, though. I thought they'd said 1/12 scale.

And that Spock looks great, and the Uhura they showed earlier. That entire wave is coming to my house.

*with an optional stumpy leg! This line, man.

Man I cannot wait for wave 3! I will preorder the whole wave cause I have time to save up for it. I want all of wave 1 and 2 as well but the original series is my all time favorite show. Watched it every day after school in the 70's just before we ate supper. It made a large impression on a young Stinky.

My cynicism born from much larger toy companies constantly taking me for a ride, cutting corners while simultaneously raising prices, just can't process what I'm seeing here with these Star Trek figures.
The things included with these figures are what other toy companies use to label them "ultimate" or "maximum" or "Collector's Edition" and slap on a price tag 2 times higher than what we're seeing here. You want me to believe that Nog alone comes with more character-specific accessories than a whole wave of Marvel Legends or DC Multiverse would fill with stock reuse? You want me to believe Kirk with a horse---WITH a horse--- is under $30? Wh-----what? Nah.
I love Star Trek, particularly Star Trek from the era(s) that Nacelle Company is tapping into. But what I'm seeing here is so euphoric.....what's the catch?

Yeah, it's hard not to wait for the other shoe to drop. The paint could be terrible, the articulation lackluster, the plastic brittle, the extras cheap... It all just sounds too good to be true. I'm rooting for Nacelle, though and hope that, for once, we will be positivly surprised.

Did they have any comparisons to the Art Asylum figures?

TNG and OS were never exactly the same scale I felt, OS was 6" and TNG was 7", right?

I too am hoping that they can deliver, so far what they are proposing has been great and doing the main cast in a single wave makes all kinds of sense to me, I likely will pick up all of Wave 2 once I get Wave 1 in hand.

To me, that's the catch - will we actually get these in hand, and what will they look like? The Expanse line is still many, many months late, no final production samples have been shared and I have dwindling faith the figures will look anywhere as good as the renders.

So until these actually hit shelves, I remain highly skeptical. Unfortunately.

They've changed all of the marketing to say 1/10 instead of 1/12 now. This has been my one nit with Nacelle, they seem to be struggling with the very basic concept of properly communicating the scale of these figures.

They are still saying we'll have these in hand by the end of the year, so I guess we'll find out one way or the other soon enough.

In answer to my own complaint, I just saw this posted on instagram by BVW:

they’re avail from our website in the UK and they should scale perfectly with Diamond ( by design)!

Also just saw link to watch a video of yesterday's panel:

Honestly, they're Biker Mice from Mars figures are some of the best smaller company figures I've gotten this year. If the quality is at least at that level, I think we'll be golden.
