X-Men '97

Finally opened Cable and his joints feel notably smooth for a ML. I mostly wanted him for his guns to give Zabu wave Cable but he's really fun. Almost ripped his boot off trying to rotate it, though. Props to Hasbro for spending extra to give us less toy there.

Why can't all Hasbro necks be this articulated?
 
Just got wave 3 and the Wolverine & Storm pack. Hope we get Jubilee in the classic look with a casual Roberto and Beast to round out the start of season 1 and then the rest in the final fight outfits and Bastion too.
 
Target is starting to receive this wave piecemeal - over three Targets this weekend I saw one figure each.
 
I got Emma Frost in from Pulse. I really like the look of this figure a lot. Overall, exactly the same as the Hellfire Club Emma, but I'm so glad I ordered it. I love the 2 head sculpts that come with this figure. Add them to just some little extra paint apps details here and there, and I think this is my favorite, definitive Emma Frost in the Marvel Legends line.
 
I got Cable who seems to have the above average amount of paint detail which is always a plus. I like the packages and I will sometimes take a minute and admire them in-box before opening. Not this time because you see, I bought this guy from amazon and his box made it to me in a condition that you would expect from a company too big to care. So I will open him post haste.

That's what I was hoping for with this one, a definitive Emma. I had the Hellfire one......hated it.
 
This one is supposed to improve on that design. More detailing and a few other things. I don't have either of them as of yet so I can't say if she is or not. But so far, everything I've seen, she looks fantastic. Shes in my PoL waiting for 2 star wars figures to pop in then I'll ship her with like 20 other fuckin things I have waiting.

I don't know if it's an improvement. I prefer the animated head sculpts and the double arms. And I know I always go on record with Legends that anything pre 22 doesn't even look good to me anymore because they keep amping up the face print thing, which changes the quality but also the style and I just don't find the Hellfire set congruent with the current art direction.

But at the end of the day it's still a hard shell cape in high heels.

Yeah I'm not expecting improvements by leaps and bounds, but I recall the knees on the Hellfire Emma being particularly bad. That combines with the heels and that hard shell cape meant I couldn't stand her up unless she was leaning on something. I'm hoping the pinless joints at least shore up the knees on the 97.

I'm really tempted to ship my POL on my birthday week and get a nice package by the weekend but there's like 3 more things still due for October and I guess it makes the most sense to wait it out.
 
I'm doing the same. I have this whole wave (minus Sunspot who I passed on) in my PoL, but I have that Jada Frosty the Snowman due in October and since it's going to be a seasonal display I want to hold out for that. I have few other items in my PoL as well that I'd like to get, but I need to maximize that $4 shipping!
 
Emma got here from Pulse just now. Face sculpt is gorgeous and I really like the overall build but is it stupid I think I want to just display her without the cloak? I feel like we've never had a properly posable Emma and she looks fine without the cloak, if, well, cold, she looks cold. But she's got great range and personality. Really happy with this version of her.
 
I had a cloth cape made for my astonishing Emma by rebel10. Its really good and helps her pose so its not Emma in a plastic shell. I think i may do the same with this Emma when I get her. Maybe even contact her now so maybe she has time soon. She wires her capes as well so they are my go to. I bought a ton of stuff off her for multiple lines, so that may be a good way to go.

She stands way easier. I haven't had a fumble yet. Even Madelyne was obnoxious at times.
