Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

I understand that's the theory. I'm not convinced it's actually true. Nor am I convinced that if people can generally afford a figure a month that the correct answer is 'we must -release- a figure every month.' You can release three figures. If they all sell out immediately, then you were wrong presuming people wouldn't support that strategy. If you're right, the worst thing that happens is people grab a figure, come back a month or two later to grab another figure, and so on until everything sells out (or sells through to satisfaction).

I think the bigger reason they do this is because it keeps people -talking- more consistently about figures, rather than a big explosion of conversation every 3-5 months when a new drop happens and then the cool period where everyone has said their piece about the new stuff and are just waiting for new releases again.
But, my counter to that is that it doesn't really seem to make a difference. People are talking about SC because it's a really good line of toys and still fairly new. I don't see much evidence that new drops are necessarily driving conversation nearly as much as upcoming reveals. And, as other toy companies demonstrate, you can 'reveal' stuff almost constantly if you're conservative with it.

Just my opinions. I'm not in any kind of position to tell Harvinger how to run their business. I just know that, for my personal needs, what they're doing now REALLY does not work for me and actively makes the line not just more difficult to collect, but almost unaffordable to collect. Which -seems- like a shitty business model unless your business model is 'only America matters.' Which, to be fair, does seem to be the primary model for loads of companies.
One wonders how much the cost of varying-size storage versus a consistent monthly space-size factors into the math, if so at all.

And yeah, as a 55yo reader here in 2026 Moorcock is a plod to read for the most part. I too devoured everything I could find while in high school; but the Time's End stuff is what's really stuck with me enough to cause me to re-read the novels.

The Adventures of Jherek Carnelian and Miss Amelia Underwood would/could be a fantastic show if done as a few limited series, imho. Do it from her pov as a romcom and it'd draw in the ladies like flies. Bridgerton/Downton Abbey meets HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy/Time Bandits. Shit, Ghibli-style anime would be fuck-awesome, too.

Tomorrow Savage Crucible is doing a live stream for a myth-based RPG called Mythomachus at around 6:30 pm EST. No information if it's their RPG or if they are highlighting someone else's, (They've had other people on to talk about projects they are doing.)

For those who've been over in the Mythic Legion's thread, this is legit. I shit you not. I am not trolling. I saw it in my YouTube notifications.

Mythomachus is a legit new RPG Kickstarter. Nothing to do with the SC folks, that I know of. Cool that they want to spotlight other creators and absolutely fucking HILARIOUS that, even if unintentional, this is a total troll of the 4H by being like 'we brought on some people that are actually making a real TTRPG and not vapourware to sell action figures.'

I think the artist on the SC comic is one of the Mythomachus creators. It's been in the works for awhile.
Now that you say it, that makes a lot of sense. The art looked familiar but I didn't even make the connection. Looks like a cool setting, as well. But I doubt I'll go in on it just because I don't really back TTRPG stuff, since I almost never play anymore.

Maybe they'll announce that there's going to be like a dozen SC figures as part of the Kickstarter, so they can try to crack a few mill. Haha.

Just checked out the Kickstarter. It looks legit, but probably not something I'd go in on. They're putting in the work, got a quickstart, details on character classes and how spells/magic work, all the stuff you SHOULD do to sell a TTPRG, and it's hard not to look at this as kind of flipping the bird at 4H's KS, but they've only raised 12k with 146 backers or so. They hit their base funding goal but one of my red flags for TTRPG kickstarters is underestimating how much it's gonna cost to produce it and... if they're doing physical books, they're gonna need at least six figures to get it done in a timely manner.

But nothing about the actual campaign or product raises a red flag, just hope they get the money they need to launch their dream project. LOT of competition right now (Traveller 5e just lunched, Kobold Press is doing a dungeon book, there's honestly a kind of fucking gorgeous game set in Salem I might pick up just cos I live there).

So, looking on the Savage Crucible timeline there is a double bubble question mark for Toy Unity Expo November 7-8th.

...And now we speculate...

I challenge you to prove me wrong. This will be where Silver Warrior with Polar bear Two-Pack will be announced, pleasing the Frazetta and Moorcock (More cock) fans.

Thus my bold prediction; a two pack for the first time AND one of them is an animal AND the character is licensed from Moorcock AND the appearance is licensed by Frazetta Museum; has been spoken into the universe! There is a lot of failure points in this prediction people; discover them and exploit them! For until then my Silver Warrior and Polar Bear will hold strong!

Keep in mind, my words have been spoken into the universe, and sometimes they become the seeds of ideas planted in the ears of the Gods, and those will occasionally bear fruit rife with possibilities. And in this case; Toys.

That would be both wonderful and financially devastating in equal measure.
