G.I. Joe Classified Series: The Chatty Pointless Thread & Performance Art

My latest custom obsession is good-guy Wade Collins, and I finally realized... he just needs to be Footloose with a new head, so now I'm hoping for a Retro version of Footloose to use so he'll be at least a little different from Footloose.
 
Okay, I got the Green Soldier Man today and he really is a solid figure, not that that's a surprise with this line. Question: are his patches legit for real-world elite forces? I ask cos I want to write up a file card for him but I want to make sure I'm taking into consideration what his real-world inspiration is before I make him, like, Welsh or something.

From what I've been able to find, they are generic special forces images. The one with the wolf is a riff on a bunch of other SF style patches. The sword/star one is pretty much the same. Something almost looking like a real world counterpart.
 
The 85 wave (Snake Eyes, Lady Jaye, Shipwreck, Footloose, etc) was when I really got serious about the line and I went all in on the Joe side at least, and I've really been resisting the idea of going all in with them in Classified... but I think I'm losing that fight now.
