Wrestling Toys (Mattel WWE, Jazwares AEW, etc.)

Militaristic Giulia. Google says the last WWE hair vs hair match was Enzo Amore vs Sylvester Lefort at an NXT Takeover in 2014.

I could swear I remember Bill once saying that if there's a really credible reason to believe someone is coming to WWE (or coming back, or signing a Legends deal), they sometimes start working on the figure before it's even official. Dan's been rumoured to be going to WWE since WAAAAAAAAY back when AEW basically tried to kill his career by taking him totally off TV. So, maybe sooner than later on that one?

Question for someone that isn't colorblind; Is the skin tone the same across all three figures in the WM13 3-pack? Or are the hands included specifically only going to work with the figure they're made for?

Sometimes when I have a stack of figures, I dump the parts in a small bin to sort later and have so much trouble telling hand colors apart. Without having the three pack, the figures might have three different tones. I think Bret usually has a darker skin tone than Austin. Shamrock hasn't had many individual figures, but in the photos for the pack, his skin tone looks like it may be in the middle of the three.

Yeah... I guess I don't even know why I'm asking since colorblind me probably won't be able to tell if it's wrong anyway. But sometimes in-house lighting is different and it becomes super obvious. I guess kudos to Mattel for not using the same skin tone for everyone?

My Walmart wrestling clearance finds of the day: Rey and Rock Street Fighter for $5 and Survivor Series Bret for $14.25.

I am the king of these discernments but I don't have the figure. I'll check a review for you.

o_OThe SF crossover figures already marked down? Damn that was fast.

The endcap display they were on at the store I got my Rey and Warrior figures at is gone, but the Ultimates and belts that were left got moved into the normal spot in the toy isle.

I hate when I run out of baggies and then need to re-sort later. I pair up the hands, line them up, and compare each figure next to them. Even then, occasionally I feel like I'm guessing.

The shelf tags were $18, but I found a Bret with a yellow clearance sticker, so I went back to see if the SF had a deeper price cut. Someone got the last two Blanka Warriors since I was there earlier in the week. Warrior seems like he was short packed at least 10 to 1 compared to Rock and Rey at my store.

BULL NAKANO. I'm not going to enjoy trying to get this figure, am I? I don't usually have to bother with the Target exclusives. A shockingly low number of their Legends are AJW superstars.

(In other news, I finally have my Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer figures.)

Target/Mattel seems to be making one figure per wave unnecessarily difficult in the last two Legends series?

Man, I am really questioning whether I want to support Zombie Sailor Toys and their Pinnacle Collection wrestling figures. Or really, the company at all.

These last few days, they've posted numerous stories where they're highlighting the aftermarket prices on these, and telling people that they blew it on owning them. Almost having a giddiness about it that is honestly sickening to me.

One, they had a shortened window to order these due to "tariffs". And two, some folks were out of work at the time. It was between eating and mortgage or wrestling figures. Some of us chose survival.

To basically rub it in people's noses and almost take a sadistic satisfaction on people paying hundreds for these fucking things, or not being able to swing paying up front for them when they were up for that short time...

I don't know, man. That is extremely distasteful and tacky, and makes me want to avoid them altogether.

Yeah. That alone would basically stop me from ever supporting a company. You might as well write 'not for the poors' on the packaging if you're going to shit on your own customers for maybe just not having the money during the pre-order window, or not being sure about their finances by the time the figure are going to come out, or even, fuck you, just not knowing for sure the quality was going to be worth the price.
People don't pre-order things for ALL kinds of reasons. Get fucked, Zombie Sailor dickhead.

You know, there's a lot you can criticize Mattel and Mattel WWE specifically for, but they at least try to get rarer figures with high aftermarket prices back out there through re-releases. I get that for smaller companies having enough demand for a thriving aftermarket is probably exciting, but it's just so shitty not only to play to that but then to also criticize your own audience for not being able to get limited-run offerings during a brief order window. It's a tacky, inconsiderate way to treat people and it's also just crazy stupid and self-defeating. You're just going to alienate people, just like this. And you could just re-release the figures! You could make the money yourselves!
