Star Wars Black Series

Yeah, I stopped engaging for the most part as well. The amount of time and energy I was expelling, trying to stupidly sway the opinion of someone who obviously has zero media literacy, nor the ability to think for themselves, was unfortunate. I'm an anxious enough person, I'm at the point where I just wanna do and talk about and celebrate the things that make me happy, Star Wars being one of them.

I'm more critical of the trailer than you, but Embo is nowhere on my list of gripes. Embo's good fun and I'm happy to get him in live action.
In a trailer full of callbacks to a LOT of stuff, it just feels silly picking the one kinda visually interesting bounty hunter as the thing for them to pick on. I mean, the incestuous Hutts are right there.
This is basically the only place I engage with wider Star Wars fandom at all.
I had a few posts over on my author accounts go viral when I commented on Star Wars, and if I can prevent ever talking with the wider Star Wars fandom much further than this board ever again, I'd be relieved.

Well, and here even when we disagree about one thing or another, I think everybody sort of goes home happy, y'know? Like nobody here thinks of Star Wars as a core part of their identity in a way that they get personally offended if I'm like "I think they should've binned this Grogu kid a couple of years ago". Everybody gets that, as the Dude says, it's just like, my opinion, man. It ain't that deep.

It's a board-wide mutual respect that keeps stuff from getting gross. It also helps that there's nobody around screeching about wokeness like they're mainlining Ben Shapiro after hours.

You can just say 'Damien.'
I could start posting about Alien Earth again at any time and at least muddy the waters. I tink I've been good and never dropped my short essay on Avengers Endgame's greatest sin even though I'm objectively correct about it. :)

I think even our grumpiest members on this board are still at the end of the day likeable and reachable. Have a post go viral on Meta or like, back in the day, on Twitter, and you'll see the dumbest people on Earth.
Exactly. At the very least here we can seem to disagree with people about fandom things without worrying about getting death threats in my messages over a movie about space wizards. I find that kind of opportunity in fandom rare these days sadly.

I would be try to hear you out at least . I'm fine with respectful disagreement . It's when people start hurling personal attacks over a movie that things go to far .
Totally fair.
Except, it's worth mentioning, Jake is a total jerkface asshole and it's both socially acceptable AND socially necessary to tell him so. Even if his opinions are right, they are wrong because of his jerkface assholery.
