Wrestling Toys (Mattel WWE, Jazwares AEW, etc.)

I gotta tell you, I've looked at BCA figures a couple of times now. Just thinking 'maybe I'll grab the ones that I liked the most.' But the prices on them aren't exactly great for 'just 'cause I feel like it' purchases.

That's probably a big factor for why LJNs still work as an indie toy product, because the size and heft and brightness of the things make them feel valuable in a way that paying small-manufacturer prices isn't as tall a hurdle.

New preorders at Ringside. I got there 30 minutes after their email, and Sol Ruca was already sold out. Loving the Main Event figure distribution and case packouts! It's been good to me as both an NXT and women's roster fan.

Sol was $40 according to some comments I read? That's a tough price for a figure that is all but guaranteed an Elite. This past Christmas season I've seen solid cases of figures at Ollie's, both Basic and Elite. Have to wonder why RSC can't buy enough to meet demand or Mattel not offering certain figures?
I ordered a UE Chelsea

Yeah, once I get over my Sol stan FOMO and look at it more objectively, she's almost definitely going to get an Elite. She's the best pure babyface in NXT, she's got a great look, she's progressing really quickly, and she'll almost definitely get over on Raw or Smackdown, so chances to get figures of her are not always going to be this limited. It was like the first Tiffany Main Event - I only have that because I managed to catch it at Walmart. She was obviously always going to get a ton of figures.

I think probably the solution here, although I don't know if this would be worth it to Mattel to implement, would be to offer online retailers more collector-friendly Main Event case packouts with higher quantities of the first-time figures, women, and Legends. It's a line built with big box retail in mind, so Ringside only orders so many cases of each wave because they don't want to sit on the 5 or 6 copies in a case of guys like Cena, Roman, and Cody that kids will buy in the cheaper format but collectors usually have far better versions of. A lot of major online toy retailers like BBTS don't even seem to carry the ME line because of that.

So.. I'm oddly tempted by the new "Final Boss" Rock figure... it's just all gold, like the Oscar statue hit the gym and laced up some boots, but I'm interested. I don't know if I'm $30 interested, but still...
