Anyone else have a collection of Playmobil stuff?

Somehow over the course of the past 5 years or so I have managed to make myself a nice little collection of Playmobil toys. I have slowed down a bit now because the options to buy in Canada are pretty slim recently and they haven't released much lately that I am really interested in personally. Still I have managed to get a good bit of stuff, some really cheap. Here is a quick rundown of what I have (off the top of my head):

Media related:

Ecto 1-A, GB Firehouse, Stay Puft
A-Team Van
BTTF Delorean
Knight Rider K.I.T.T. (why they didn't do K.A.R.R. I don't know)

I missed out on the 007 Aston Martin when I had the chance but if I can find one cheap I'll pick it up. Same with the Magnum P.I. Ferrari.

Other stuff (all of it on sale/clearance):

Porsche 911 GT3, Porsche Mission E, Porsche 911 RS, Mercedes Benz 300 SL, NHL Zamboni and the smaller Fire Truck.

I guess I should be thankful they aren't going deeper into licensed stuff that I am actually interested in, for now.

Also add the Scooby Gang and Mystery Machine to this list.

That's my small collection of pop culture properties in a similar style and scale.

For most of them, it was the ONLY way to get something at the time.

I grabbed the James Bond Aston-Martin a couple months back when it was like $40-ish on Amazon.

Like SalemCrow said with other properties, it's basically the only classic James Bond toy that's been released in decades, out of Hot Wheels and the like. Easily my favorite brand that I don't have shelves and shelves of toys from.

I love it, and I wish they'd do a couple other Bond vehicles. Really fun item, great details and action features (though the ejector seat on mine broke basically straight away), the figures are cool (somehow the only figural representation of 007 in my collection), and the quality is impeccable relative to the price.

If I had the space, I'd totally get their U.S.S. Enterprise, which from every picture I've seen is a thing of beauty.

I passed on the Mystery Machine because it wasn't the classic design. Nothing wrong per se with the one Playmobil did, but I just didn't like that it was basically a modern van instead of the original design. I went with the Jada Toys metal one to get the classic design.

Yeah that is why I wish I had picked it up. Unfortunately I was playing clearance chicken with it here in Canada and the lowest I ever saw it was around $65Cdn. I kept saying I would just bite the bullet but never did, then of course it was gone.

I really like the features they put into some of the vehicles they release. I'm surprised they gave KITT electronics, but I guess I shouldn't be considering how important his light and sound was to the show.

I like the looks of the Enterprise, but didn't like the price. I loved the Klingon Bird of Prey more than the Enterprise, but again the price kept me away, and now both of them are more expensive on the secondary market.

I have been tempted to get Magnum and KITT but haven't pulled the trigger. Need to check out the Bond as I didn't know that existed. Trying to not get more stuff...

I have the Minimates for BttF and Ghostbusters so probably don't need those.

I would be happy if they did The Munsters...

I used to, many years ago. Not anymore, but I still look at new stuff every so often and think 'man, this is some cool shit.' I just don't have room for it all. Especially the kind of stuff I like - the castles and pirate ships and all that.

Clearance chicken is, in fact, the most dangerous game. I played and lost with the Playmobil Ecto-I, leaving my Ghostbusters eternally incomplete and my firehouse's lower floor depressingly empty (I actually ended up putting the Aston Martin there).

I only got it because Walmart had one of those display standee things a couple years ago for Black Friday. I got it for $35Cdn. Similar thing with the Firehouse. TRU had a sale around Black Friday (maybe Christmas) where the Firehouse was around $50Cdn instead of $100Cdn.

Most of the Playmobil stuff I have was on sale/clearance because they are great, but not full price great. Magnum's Ferrari is one I will probably cave on for the usual $80ish CDN that is goes on sale for up here because no retail brick & mortar have stock.

PlayMobil is great stuff saddled by being incompatible with any other toyline. It'd be the greatest 18th toyline in existence if I cared about a world where everyone's shins had been blown off and their feet re-attached directly to their knees after killin' fiddy men like Cotton Hill.

I still want that moon rover from a couple years back to give to my custom Construx Rocket Raccoon.

Thank you for reminding me of my many childhood failures to stuff my "Star Wars" figures into Playmobil vehicles/ playsets.
