ML Secret Wars

Would be nice, indeed.

Why does this Iceman have that distinctive straight line right above his eyes on both heads? Is that the top of the ball cavity? It's almost as bad as the seam on the last one's face.
 
Despite my initial enthusiasm for this new Iceman figure, the more I saw and ruminated on it, the less interest I had in purchasing him. I've resigned myself to just holding strong with the old-school Toybiz Legends figure. I mean, he still looks pretty sharp, he's got a killer ice slide and, fortunately, his crotch has never exploded on me.

I've got Iceman pre-ordered, but don't feel great about it. I rarely do about any update.

Volcana and Zsaji are my biggest wants from Secret Wars. I could see Volcana maybe happening, but probably not Zsaji. Neither are included in the leaked list for the wave, of course. There's only one figure left in question from the wave and I think the consensus is that it's Magik. I'm still holding out hope for Volcana though.
 
Does anybody with Iceman happen to have the X-Factor belt from the Marvel Select figure handy? Would love to see a pic of him wearing it. I picked up the MS figure to use the belt on the Mafex, but if it looks good I wouldn't mind getting the ML as a stand-in until the Mafex releases in 2029.

I’ve done this but with the retro card Iceman and it looks dope. However, it’s tucked in storage at the moment and will take a little effort and digging to find.

Don't go to any trouble! It's not hard to visualize, and thanks to Hasbro's diligent frugality I've got plenty of figures on the same body to try it out on.
 
I find it funny that Diamond Select took one final shot at Iceman and pretty much gave most what they wanted. It wasn't perfect but it was better than Hasbro's "creeping toward acceptable" Iceman iterations.

I too bought the Secret Wars Iceman because it's Iceman, whatever, it's a core X-Man. The new Retro Diamond (aka: clear as Iceman with nothing signifying diamond anything) I think is where I draw the line. I wound up wanting the dossiers and file folders for Beast's lab table more than anything from that figure.

Was Magik even IN Secret Wars? I thought she was a demonstrably late 80s character? And basically a subplot tertiary child character before that? I'd only really buy her if she's blue/yellow/metal arm/ training suit like the Jim Lee card.

Huzzzah! I just hope it's not the dusty looking canary yellow they put on Sunspot. I don't need Seinkewicz (sp?) colors or New Mutants, just the Lee era Magik. The Lobdell book where she died and Colossus got home from a mission to find out he missed it always hit me even as a kid.
 
Did anyone have trouble with Iceman having a stuck waist joint? Mine was so stuck i was half convinced it didn't have one but I was able to get a nail in between it and managed to break it free. Also the belt was stuck to the waist in the same spot so I wonder if it's some kind of issue with that. Either way it's frustrating
 
Totally forgotten I'd ordered Iceman, but he just showed up in a hilariously large box. You'd think he was released ages ago, with how dusty the top of his bubble was. I'd mostly ordered him for the ice effects- has anyone tried using them on the Juggernaut wave Iceman? I know that's a terribly outdated figure, but I dunno- I prefer my Iceman to be a little more intricate.
