Guess it must not have been on this board where a few of us were talking about all the neat mechs and Warhammer stuff that JoyToy puts out, but I came across this awesome $700 monstrosity and thought of it again:

I knew they'd make another one of those when the first one seemed to be doing well in pre-sale.
I wish I could have something like that, but it's 800 CAD, so I'm gonna say it's a hard pass.

I do really enjoy the JoyToy Warhammer stuff, though. My son and I have probably 2k worth of the figures, or so. My collection alone includes Primarch Russ with like 6 or 7 Space Wolves, and I think 8 Black Templars, including the one on the motorcycle. My son has Primarch Lion and some other figures. And we have a bunch of Space Marine II-related things like the main trio, some gaunts, and a couple Cadians. They just showed off another SM2 figure that's supposed to be a Tactical in some of the relic armor with a relic weapon set and it looks fucking awesome.

Fantastic figures, really. I just wish they'd settle on a fucking scale, because that's all over the damn place right now.

The Warhammer ones aren't all 1/18? Or are they just fudging it? I didn't know they had different scales.

I guess it depends on how deep you are into Warhammer lore so I'll just do the abridged version:
The entire Warhammer line is billed as 1:18 scale. But that essentially means that none of the figure are the right size. The 30k figures tend to be larger than older 40k figures - but 30k Marines should actually be the same size as modern 40k Marines and -shorter- than modern 40k Primaris marines.
But the old Primaris marine sculpt is smaller than the new 30k marines AND it's smaller than the NEW Primaris sculpt being used for the video game figures.

It goes deeper than that, but the tldr is the line is 1:18 scale in name only because so few of the figures are the right height to be 1:18 scale.

I am not deep at all, I just admire from afar. Thanks for the info though, makes sense now.

Just throwing this out there - I've had an ongoing issue with Fireflies Toy Store on Ali. So if you're an Ali-Warhammer buyer, I'd recommend not using this store. They sent me a broken figure and gave me a run-around for 3 full months (so far) about getting a replacement. A couple of times they offered me a partial refund, and ignored me completely when I asked why I shouldn't return the item for a FULL refund considering it's broken.
My exact question being - why would I want to pay ANY money for a broken item? Just give me my money back and a prepaid shipping label and I'll happily send the item back. Nothing. Just another 'we'll get a replacement to you.'
Sleaze behavior. Stay away.

I know JT's goal and/or requirement is to match the style of the actual gaming miniatures, but the thing I keep wishing for is figures based on the style of the Total War: Warhammer game series. Just a couple of examples here of what I wouldn't be able to resist, but there are many more to be found:

That would be cool.
I don't think the Age of Sigmar figure set has come out yet, right? I'm really interested to see if that goes anywhere for them. Lately it doesn't seem like JoyToy is doing anything by half-measures. So you gotta think we're getting a whole Age of Sigmar line. Which is awesome. I just wish it were an Old World line instead. Maybe one day. But hopefully not because I definitely cannot afford that.

How is JoyToy with replacement parts? Copped the Roman Female Centurion for cheap from a local store, but the foot peg on one leg was sheared off to a thread in the package.

I found a an official store link to order replacement parts, but its Waitlisted on the site. I emailed them direct, but I'm also tempted to grab another cheap Roman thing to salvage the joint. Not including extras is lame for the scale and price.
