G.I. Joe Classified One-A-Day Beamish-Style Poll - #49 - Major Juanita Hooper (Animated Series)

And to be fair, in almost any origin story, Serpentor is tinged with body horror. He's halfway between Frankenstein and eugenics and then gussied up in gold and jade. He's a horror story at his core, and man, cult leaders are monsters.

I'm trying to find it, but I could have sworn there was a version of "Cobra-La" that was simply an older, bottom level R&D lab where the "B" was rubbed off of the name on the door giving us Cobra La. It may be part of this too, and my old ass just doesn't remember it at all.
Yeah, I remember that too. Maybe in the Devil's Due run?

An intriguing idea. I haven’t read the the source material, but the twist is certainly interesting. I’m not opposed to him being made, but I’m not sure whether or not I’ll get him.

Give him the hood to make him different from the first release. But then he might look like Kobra from DC
