Cosmic Legions

I've mostly gotten the generic space suit type figures thus far. Most of the other alien figures (save the big four armed dude) don't really strike me as interesting enough.

The bugs and the large "Space Chet" don't really do anything for me.The 'greys' might be of interest at some point, but I AM trying to cut back.

Personally, I’m more than happy with the designs in this line. I’ve never been big on human characters even in Mythic Legions, so I haven’t missed them in Cosmic at all. The new human heads don’t do anything for me, but the new alien heads and helmets are pretty neat. I’ll likely pick up a few of them once they’re released.
Same for me, the last thing I want in a Cosmic line is a bunch of humans.

I’m cool with all the weird aliens. It’s really just the style of the tech (suits, weapons, etc) that I find disappointing, because again, it all looks so much like a modern sci-fi shooter like Destiny etc.

There was a Mass Effect space suit that was based on a Dragon Age armor set - that was the other thing I expected from Cosmic Legions, more of a sci-fantasy approach, with lots of options for cross-pollinating the two lines, but again, not really where they went with it. And that’s okay! I’m glad people like the line. Just not my thing.

I waited for the head kits to go up on Big Bad because I didn’t want enough to justify shipping… or so I thought! Mark up is higher than last set of heads ($12->$13, $17->$20) so after getting the sets I know I want for sure: redhead, the snake, and zombie; I end up paying $1 more (well actually $2.10 more because the Big Bad mark up is taxed and 4H shipping isn’t but shhhhh)

But I’m fine with that, and I’ll take a $10 (…$11 it’s taxed) “decide up until the last minute if I want one or two extra zombie sets” instead of paying an extra $30 now and realizing later this year “I didn’t need more zombie parts did I”

Yeah, I was a little surprised to see the head packs were $13.99 this time around. The Man-E-Faces set being $20.99 is actually annoying. Thankfully, I ordered most of what I wanted from 4H.

The Horsemen really seem to be pushing that ‘order direct’ mentality more and more lately. You’d think they’d want to be more upfront about the retail pricing to further drive the direct sales. I guess they don’t want to completely throw their retails under a bus though.

There also seems to be less extra stock being made on these newer waves. Many are already pre-sold out and might not ever have stock after preorders are filled. Isn’t that kind of how the All Stars waves started in the first place - to get in demand characters back into production? They seem to go in cycles of making too much and then too little. At least anything Mythic sells, cosmic still seems to linger.

Yeah, I wonder if they're getting back to their roots a little bit. Don't miss the preorder at your peril.

I have no knowledge of anything, but a simple glance at the store and the retailers sale tells me they overproduced Poxxus and the All-Stars 5 waves. I don't think Cosmic Legions has ever been a great seller.

It seems like they course corrected with Necronominus and All-Stars 6. Or they were just very popular. They seemed pretty easy to find at release but sold quick. A lot of great figures in those waves. Sir Enoch should be a top consideration for All Stars 7.

Ashes of Agbendor definitely seems like a smaller production run. (The first ML wave ever that I didn't preorder anything from 4H ...) Those are sold out everywhere I looked.

With all that in mind, I bit the bullet and preordered the rest of the Cosmic head packs I wanted from BBTS.

The only peril I see is the total after shipping once I put together my list of wants on order day. The last few wave releases have been more in line with "what can I pare down," to "you know what, I don't really even want this stuff at these prices" so I end up ordering very little to nothing directly from them.
