I finally decided to do a custom job involving painting and not just swapping parts. I decided to repaint the VHS series Aunt May's hair white to better stand in as a comic figure. I'm really proud of how it came out.

That came out really well. Nice and clean. Well done!
Thanks. I went over the hairpiece with a silver sharpie first and then I washed most of it off. That + the darker blonde hair underneath gave it a cool shaded effect that doesn't show up well on camera unfortunately. For my first "real" painting effort (as opposed to swapping parts or using various sharpies to touch up paint that has come off) I'm very proud of it. Now my only problem with my aunt may figure is some weird gold smudges on the body that I found that must have rubbed off of something else. I tried to remove them with a magic eraser but it didn't really work. Ah well... It's not super noticable.

Interesting. I had just presumed you painted the hair white, then went over it lightly with a gray wash.
Nope. I really suck at painting (there have been several unsuccessful customs before this one) and I was wondering if the silver sharpie would work well enough to make the hair greyer at least. But it looked weird so I decided to take the plunge. I'm glad I did
