Wasn’t the Heroes Reborn Ironman re-done last year or 2024 or am I mistaken?

You are mistaken. He was on a leaked list but did not materialize.

My guess is that it was actually the mislabeled "Model 20" and someone misidentified the back fins as Heroes Reborn Iron Man's smoke stacks.

Heroes Reborn was "leaked" by DMB for the Iron Man Retro Wave though, which ended up being false.

Heroes Reborn should be sealed in a safe, cemnted in concrete and dropped into the Marianas Trench, never to be mentioned again. Those series were the nadir of Marvel comics and the less representation in Legends the better.

I mean...agree to disagree, I guess. Jim Shooter was EIC of Marvel Comics for the 9 years it cemented itself firmly as the dominant comic book company. Some of my most favorite comic book runs ever ocurred under his stewardship.

After he left Marvel he went on to found Valiant - and those books were awesome. It was a great fun shared universe.

Heroes Reborn was a wet fart of an effort that was blessedly brief and died an ignominious death.

Yep. Shooter's work on Avengers and Legion of Super-Heroes was brilliant, too.

He may have been a jerk, but you don't have to be a nice guy to be a great writer. Harlan Ellison was proof of that.

Heroes Reborn hit right during that sweet spot as a kid where I was going to the shop every week and buying everything. Pretty sure I have every issue and read them multiple times. I still have basically zero nostalgia for them - maybe a tiiiny desire for that universe's Swordsman, and I'd take an updated Iron Man.

Heroes Return, on the other hand, was fantastic. I'd love to put together that specific team of Avengers, especially the newbies like Triathlon and Silverclaw.

Heroes Reborn was in my sweet spot of combining then-hot Image artists with the then-in-a-lull-but-beloved-by-me Avengers. I'd get them all.

Truthfully, I'd be in for Iron Man, the FF (because again, sucker for the FF), and that Thor costume because it's so bad that I need it on the shelf.
